Adult Tinkerbell bathingsuit?

I bought a Disney swimsuit once.

It was made by the same folks that make that luggage IMHO.

Way back in my youth I sold swimwear. For MOST of us swimwear needs a little lycra to "smooth" things out. For most of us swimwear needs a little "bust support" (If you look like the girl in the Disney add you can quit reading) For most of us Disney fails to provide those needed things. It was cheaply made, had not enough lycra and basically was unflattering!

It did have a mickey design. I guess Disney thought that was enough. I didn't and sent the piece of junke back! (It was cheap however, but there was a reason!)

Thanks for letting me know about the quality. I may have to go the route of buying a bthing suit and adding a tink patch or two to it.

I will explain one more time - the OP wanted to give a skirted suit AS A GIFT to a friend. I know for a fact I am not the only one who associates a skirted suit with overweight women (or older women). IMHO, if a friend of mine gave me a skirted suit as a gift, I would think she was making a statement concerneing what she thought of my body/weight. To save her from the possibilty that her friend would also perceive this gift as a slight, I suggested she look for something else.

Sidenote: when I was fat, I did look for skirted suits, but now that I have lost almost 40 lbs., I'd never wear one again. I wore them, deluding myslef into thinking they were camoflaging my butt and thighs, but looking at photos, I can tell they did nothing for my figure but make me look dumpy. I now wear a tankini with a bikini bottom, not a skirt, which I think is much more common among average-size women age 30 - 50 than a skirted suit, or at least they seem to be from my personal observations.

And please, get over yourself. I am not referring to you (or anyone else) personally. I don't know you. I've never seen you. I honestly have no desire to try to see anyone from the DIS. I am not calling any one in particular fat. Even if you own a skirted suit, I am not calling you fat. I am merely saying that a particualr tyle of suit is favored by plussies, or Poohs or whatever euphasims you want to use. Not that the only person who wear a tankiki is a fat lump. Sheesh! Reading comprehension skills are a good thing, people, as is not reading too much into a post and persoanlizing the message! ;)

SHEESH! You assume what folks look like by thier clothing choices? You And then you accuse them of "reading too much into a post" Hmm.... :confused3

Perhaps the person who needs to "get over themself" is you? A friend would be nice enough to give you a gift and you would be insulted? Hmm...

And as someone who sold swimwear for a LIVING I can tell you that just because a suit has a skirt it does not automatically make you look dumpy. If you looked "dumpy" it's probably because you weren't in the right swimsuit for you, the addition or deletion of a skirt is not an automatic "dumpy" addition LOL! As a matter of fact some skirts are VERY short to look sexy not dumpy LOL!

Let's try to return our attention to the OP's question. We're not really adding anthing positive to the discussion when we argue about whether the OP should be buying a particular gift for someone, whether the style of the gift is appropriate or what someone might read into the receipt of such a gift.

If anyone else has another place for the OP to purchase the item she is looking for, please feel free to let her know. :)

If they came in "pooh-size" I would so buy one and more inmportantly, wouldn't care what anyone else thought !!!!!!!

OP - Just to let you know, if you do buy a suit from Disney, they seem to run larger then average on the sizes. I bought a size smaller then I usually wear, and the bottoms were still kind of loose.

I also think it is cute + if others don't like the way you look , they should look elsewhere!
