Adult Swap on rides that DW won't ride?

Can this be done similar to the baby swap? I have a lovely DW that will not ride Rock'n'Roller Coaster or ToT. However, my 9yo DS loves them and my 7yo DD is tall enough on this trip and would like to ride them. Can all four of us get in line and then let me swap out which kid rides with me while my wife waits with the extra kid?

I hope so, as neither kid would care to ride with a "stranger" or alone AND....

I GET TO RIDE TWICE!!!!! :cool1:

I don't know the answer to this, but couldn't your kids ride together with you behind them(alone or with a stranger)? The idea of babyswap is for children to have supervision while their parents ride.

Talk about playing the system. :rotfl2: IF it works let me know because I will "pretend" to be someone's parent if I can ride something again in a row. :teeth:

ToT is not a problem... the seats are in rows of 3 or 4. DW can go through the queue with you and take the chicken exit at the loading area while the rest of the family boards the ride.

As for RnR, loading and unloading are at two different locations so it may not be possible for one person to wait and then swap. I would go with what pplasky said. Have the kids ride together with you behind them.

Another option for RnR is that everyone gets a fastpass, you go on with the first kid and then when you get off take DW's fastpass and go on with the 2nd kid. This is basically how baby swap works anyway.

I did a "real" ;) baby Swap at RnR (my DD was only 5) and the CM told me to wait inside the Store and when my DH came back with DS, I got in (by the exit way ) and they let my DS ride again with me, while DH waited there with DD.

I'd do as pplasky suggested, if my kids weree 9 and 7.

And I'd get a fastpass to ride again, 'cause I love this ride . :cool1:

My getting to ride twice was only a funny one-liner...I really don't care about that part. But I do know that my 7yo daughter won't ride RnR without me in the seat next to her....DS I'm not so sure. I could probably use the good 'ol "you're 2 years older than your sister...do I need to ask HER to ride by herself?" LOL

I'm sure it will work itself out. The fastpass idea on RnR should work....DW can people watch for a while and eat a Mickey Bar! Geez....things have sure reversed themselves when you have to bribe your WIFE with an ice cream!!!

The fastpass system has taken care of this problem. Get them for all four of you, even though she is not riding. You go with one, ride, come out and go right back in with the other.

Hopperfan - I agree it theoretically solves the problem, but even Fastpass lines can sometimes be 1/2 an hour wait (or at least that has been my experience on our June trips)

I agree with hopperfan, I totally understand that if it is the first time for your 7 and 9yr old I would want to ride with them each. I would use the kidswap. Fast pass and kid swap should move quickly in November!! Have fun its one of my favorites too!!! :cool1:

don't see how this is trying to play the system. you have 2 young kids who don't want to ride alone so what's the problem with using a baby swap set up? it's not llike they are 12 and 15 and yu are doing it.

i wish someone had done it with the little boy the cm put with husband and i on primeval whirl..total strangers with a little kid?? in today's sick world i would have freaked if i saw my kid riding with a couple strangers. (obviously he was safe with us but how did the cm know that!!???)

I don't see it as trying to work the system, afterall, four people waited in line and only four people rode the ride. And we personally have done adult swap with a handicapped adult who could not be left to wait alone. I just don't know how the CMs handle this situation being it is a non-rider capable of waiting on their own. Each trip we have found the CMs don't all agree on process, even within the same ride. We have to ask at each ride how to handle our situation (and even once inside there are varying opinions). Using the Fastpass seems to be the route to take and with your travel dates I don't think you will have fast pass line issues.

I understand your situation as I travel alone with my dd's 8 and 10 but unfortunately - no.

You can only use babyswap or "riderswap" if you have a child who dosen't meet the height requirement for the ride.

Since I ride with my 2 dd's as the solo adult IIRC you will only have a problem on RnRC and my 10yo was ok riding behind my 8yo and I. It was that, or no one rides as we knew the deal going in and discussed and planned it.

Thinking of others your wife may want to skip and Primeval whirl you can seat 4 to a car, btmr will be tight but I fit with my dds. TOT is a row of 5 or 6 so that isn't an issue. Space mtn is three in a row so no issues there. Mission Space is 4 in a row and Test Track is 3. Barnstormer my girls ride together and I ride behind them (if at all!).

Unless I am remembering wrong your only decision will be RnRc and if you work it out ahead of time you should be ok. Perhaps get the 4 fp's like someone suggested and ride with one child while your dw does a show
or has ice cream with the other child, then switch. That or draw straws or come up with a plan.

Have a great time.

I'm with the others who have mentioned that you don't need to swap with
either scenario.

All of you can enter the line together, and the DW can take a "chicken exit"
at boarding.

Tower of Terror:
Parties of three can be seated together.

Rock n' Roller Coaster:
I agree with the others who have suggested the kids ride together
and the parent ride alone.

I agree with the Fastpass suggestion for all 4 - I think looking at your signature your trip will be in November - if that is the case you should have wait time issues with fastpass - and definately no where near the wait times with fastpasses in June. I actually haven't been recently in November nor have I ever been in June but I have heard lots of stories. I have been in Sept, Oct, May and Dec and never had a bad wait time issue.

Either that or I would go with the suggestion of the 2 kids ride together on RNR and you as a single or with someone (and in Nov your chances are good of being a single)

But the fastpass suggestion still sounds better because then you do get to ride twice!!

True - but at 7 and 9 your kids should be able to understand that if they want to ride with dad they have to wait, either for their turn or for you and db/ds to ride. Leave it up to them to either work it out as to who rides with dad, ride together and you ride alone or wait for each other.

(You could always sneak back with your wife's FP while they take in B&TB, sshhh!)

Anyway as I said earlier your only issue is really going to be RnRC which shouldn't have much delay in the FP lane if you decide to go that route.

I would have them ride in front of you on RnR and you ride behind them. RnR probably has one of the worst fast pass implementations going. You could be 50 minutes to an hour to go through the fastpass line twice. You would have to decided if it is worth that much time of your vacation.

Personally I don't think the ride is worth that much time just so each kid could ride it once and you could ride it twice. Heck the ride is only about 90 seconds long. Don't get me wrong, I like the ride but when we went at the end of August I thought the 22 minutes it took using FP was too long. We had another set that we didn't use because of the wait.

tjmw2727: I've done the "sneak back" with DW's fastpass on both RNR and ToT while they watched the Beauty & the Beast show (it's a good show, but once was enough LOL). Luckily I think RNR will be the only 'issue' as my wife will ride BTMRR and Space Mtn. and Splash....odd.

Thanks for all the replies. They were definitely helpful.
