Can two adults plate-share? I'm trying to maximize our TS credits as much as possible, and wondered if the restaurants will let us share a plate, without too much grief.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks!!

Good question!

I was told by a dining reservation agent (who checked with a supervisor) that with the free dining plan offered this fall, you cannot share a plate. I'm not sure if this is true for those who pay for the dining plan. Of course, if you ask 2 different people, you're probably going to get 2 different answers.

Hope someone else can respond to this!

my husband and I shared some meals on our last trip to disney. we were never given a problem. we did it because we would never finish our meals plus we alwas tried an app, and dessert.

From what I read alot on these boards, it seems like Disney is ok with meal sharing.

I never knew that so many adults meal shared before I joined this board.

Personally, I think it's tacky, especially as a way to spread out dining plan credits if you got the extra dining for free.

We have shared food, never at a table service restaurant though. They give you so much to eat, neither of us have ever come close to finishing everything on our plates.

I hope they let us share, I can not eat a whole meal by myself. Why should I pay for something just to leave it at the table. That is wasting to me. Or if places will let me order a Childs meal, I do that. There is nothing tacky about it at all , in my opinion. Its just not paying for only what you can really eat. It keeps me from overeating too.

It's not tacky to share meals. Portion sizes are HUGE in most places. It's not like I can take a doggy bag home and I don't like to waste.

We share at many TS restaurants as the portions are huge and I don't like wasting food (there are some places that I would not share at, but most I would). We have never had a problem, matter of fact the kitchen has always split things in the back for us, and we always leave extra tip.

That being said, we don't do any dining packages so that might be a different story, you'll just have to ask at the restaurant to make sure they are okay with using 1 credit between the 2 of you. It will affect your waiters tip significantly, as well, so keep that in mind and know you can always leave them extra to make up for the work they are doing for two =)

We Share meals, but I prefer to call it "sampling".

If I get salmon and the wifes steak looks good, we SHARE.

My son is a Chilli Fries(as a meal) person, but if my wife has left over Burger he is all over it.

I can see reasons to split a meal, but IMO saving a meal credit should not be one of them.

Not doing a dining plan. Plan on sharing meals. That way you don't use up your dessert space! Those meals are huge! Guess I figure that we tip based on if we had ordered 2 entrees and no appetizer or dessert. So we get one entree and one dessert!

I have used their dining plans twice they were the deluxe plan at the time. with that I got all my meals everyday at almost everywhere. I have never done anyother plan so I cannot comment on sharing with other plans. I can say that I do not think it is tacky to share a meal with my husband, we both order appetizers and desserts. We eat three meals a day at table service somtimes it is too much to eat. Tacky would be trying to share a buffet with your whole family.
