Whole new world here...what restaurants should we NOT miss. We will be going for a labor day/anniversary trip. We will go back with the family in Jan...so what restaurants should we not miss without having kiddos in tow!

Thanks in advance!

Not to be missed places for adults:
Jiko
Citrico's
Flying Fish
Blue Zoo

Also highly recommended for adults:
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Artist Point
Palio
Shula's

Bluezoo is wonderful from start to finish. For our adult trip in August I have gone for California Grill, Hollywood Brown Derby, Le Cellier, Citricos. I hear Artist Point is wonderful too.
Have fun choosing,
Claire xx

Okay so I am wondering what restaurant is the Blue Zoo? Where is it located? Is it part of the dining plan?

It's at The Dolphin resort and I don't believe it is part of the dining plan. Someone else will come along to confirm or reconfirm for you. :)

Our top picks our Brown Derby, Artist Point, Flying fish, Cailf Grill. Ohana is on our list also kids wouldn't eat much there.

There are so many great restaurants and it's best to go with what you like. Without kids in tow, table service restaurants are always a good choice and there are dozens worth trying. Even counter service restaurants can be a different experience when it's just the two of you.

If you're not familiar with all the dining available, try sources like the Birnbaum book or allears.com.

The entire WDW experience is different for two adults that with kids, or even other adults. You can be a lot less structured and just go with the flow.

Todd English's bluezoo is inside the Dolphin hotel and is NOT part of the DDP. None of the Swan / Dolphin hotel restaurants are included, since they aren't really Dinsey properties.

We love Artist Point, Jiko, Citricos and Flying Fish, most of all (though if we have a chance, I'm sure we'll love Blue Zoo as well). Narcoossee is good as well, as is Yachstman Steakhouse, Shulas, Palio, Brown Derby and California Grill.

However, these restaurants all have something else in common: They're expensive! :rotfl: They're either not on the dining plan, or require two TS credits.

So, among the one TS credit restaurants, the best, IMHO, are Coral Reef and Chefs de France. (Coral Reef was so close that it actually used to be two TS credits, and they switched it. I cannot understand why Chefs de France isn't two TS credits, it's that great.) Spoodles and Boma are quite good too.

We're taking another couple with us next year, no children, and here are the recommendations I'm making. (We're staying at the BoardWalk, and we won't have a rental car, so I only recommended restaurants that were in theme parks, or within walking distance of the hotel.

Epcot:
1 Coral Reef (Seafood; 25 foot high window into aquarium)
2 Chefs de France (French; best food inside the theme parks)
3 Biergarten (German; buffet)
4 Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki (Japanese hibachi)
5 Restaurant Marrakesh (Moroccan; belly dancer show during dinner)
6 Rose and Crown (English; 30% chance of getting a fine view of Illuminations)
7 Le Cellier (Steak)
8 L'Originale Alfredo di Roma (Italian; a number of bad reviews)

Epcot Area resorts:
1 Spoodles (Mediterranean; not as good as it used to be, but still good)
2 Big River Grill and Brewing Works (Burgers; not worth a special trip)
3 Yacht Club Galley (American)
4 Beaches and Cream Soda Shop (Burgers; not worth a special trip)
5 Cape May Cafe (Buffet; slightly seafood biased; not worth a special trip)
6 ESPN Club (Bennigans-type food; not worth a special trip)

Disney-MGM Studios:
1 50s Prime Time Cafe (Homestyle; EXCELLENT themed experience)
2 Hollywood & Vine (Buffet)
3 Mama Melrose (probably down for rehab)
4 Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant (Mediocre themed experience)

When we go on an adults trip to WDW the dining is my favorite part. Since we are not big seafood people our favorites are:
Jiko
Jiko
Jiko
And did I mention - Jiko - LOL
Artist Point
Cali Grill
Kona Cafe
Bisto de Paris
and of course Jiko

I went to Victoria and Alberts last trip with a friend on a girls night out. It was amazing. If I can get DH to pack a jacket next trip we will definately be going there.

Two adults here that enjoyed Biergarten, Teppanyaki, and CRT last year(CRT has changed since then). Thanks to reviews and research done on the DIS, we'll be trying this year-
Liberty Tree Tavern
Le Cellier(Done it before and loved it)
Whipering Canyon Cafe
Boma
And I'm still trying to decide between 50's Primetime, Concorse Steakhouse, or Spoodles.

I'd just add California Grill and Brown Derby to the list you got from madalex.
Oh--and the Portobello Yacht Club in Downtown Disney.

For your anniversary dinner there really is only one choice -- Victoria and Albert's in the Grand Floridian. You really cannot do this with children (at least pre-teens) in tow.

Our must do for when we are without the kids is Yachtsman Steakhouse. We love everything about it and it has been perfect 3x now for us. However for our next night out we are trying California Grill. I'm haivng a hard time not going back to YSH though. ;)

That would pretty much be my list, I'd add the California Grill and take off Palio--we had two terrible service meals in a row there and won't return.

February. I have no idea where I got that from, but it is in there (this was lifted from an email I sent to my guests for our trip next year), so I must have seen the rumor somewhere.

Our favorites are Jiko and California Grill. (we also like Narcosees) We always have our 9yo dd with us. She is a wonderful dining companion and never "bothers" anyone. She usually colors quietly the whole time. She is very used to being in restaurants for hours. I wish I could take her to V&A but it seems everyone here says children are not welcome there at all. (regardless of their behavior?) So, maybe you should do that one while you can without your kids.

We are just two adults (no kids yet!) and enjoy Disney dining. I would not miss Citricos - it was excellent. We are trying Jiko this trip as a change. We tried Yachtsman but felt that Citricos was far superior in quality of food (steak) and service.

For in park dining, we really enjoyed our meal at Brown Derby. Great food.

We will be trying Coral Reef and Chefs de France this trip, too. I hear great things about both!
