Adult Night Out?

At the mention of Fairy Godmothers in the other post below - I got the crazy idea of actually going out alone with my DH. (Of course, if I go alone with DH, then our best friend could actually watch the kids...it's just that he's never offered, and I hate to ask - know what i mean??? Uncle Andy is such a big help with the kids during regular park days, that maybe he deserves a night off too!!)

OK - to refine this now --- Adult night out; me, DH and Uncle Andy... kids stay at OKW with Fairy Godmothers.

What do we do? I really don't want to use a park pass - and PI is kind of out as DH doesn't drink, although the Comedy Club sounds fun. I am interested in perusing other resorts. What about dinner at the Contemporary and watching the fireworks from there? Can that be fun? I will want something that perpetuates the magic, makes us laugh, and puts us in a place we haven't been to yet.

All suggestions are appreciated!
Sue

I don't drink (much) and I enjoyed my night out at PI, especially at the Jazz Club, Adventurer's Club and Comedy Club. I have heard that Citywalk over at Universal is even better, looking forward to it next time. Of course, the California Grill is wonderful for dinner... I don't think you will run out of choices of fun things to try!

Maybe a just a night in the parks with no kids in tow... :) All those places you don't normally go ...

Fairy Godmothers - great service. A real Godsend.

I agree with teri (we usually do agree).
I don't drink at all (unless you want me to go immediately to sleep) and I thought PI was a lot of fun. The Comedy Club was very funny. If you've ever seen "Whose Line is it Anyway?" on TV, that's the type of thing you will see there. The Adventurers Club was fun, especially if you get yourself into the mood of the place. I didn't care as much for the dance places; they are very loud, but worth a trip in to say you were there. There are also bands on stages outside and the NYE party at midnight is fun.
By the way, SueOKW, I tried to email you back, but it keeps getting returned to me. I hope you got your reservation arranged.–

So glad you got my email - you can always reach me at suewho100@aol.com - don't know what's gone wrong.

I've done a lot of digging and think we will be fine - thank you for asking, though! Hey - if our paths cross, let me know if you'd like us to watch your DD for a bit while you run out and have some quiet time - with three adults, we should be able to pull it off. Hope to meet you there sometime!

plans are such:
March 25 arrive 11:51 - unpack etc then hit MGM - where I will make my ressies for Saturday - dinner fantasmic package. We will also do Fantasmic this night too.

Tuesday - maybe Universal - and take DDs to Slime Time Live while the boys ride rides...

Wed - MK AM only, then maybe AK afternoon...

Thursday - Pirates cruise for DDs, and I have to come up with something special for DS.. Then off to Epcot.

Friday - MK all day with the relatives - taking our party from 6 to 11  !! We will be at Crystal Palace at 1:40 for lunch. they are the best relatives though - can't wait to see them!

Saturday - move from GKTW to OKW. Then meet the relatives at MGM around 4:00 and do dinner package at Fantasmic - probably Mama Melrose's.

Sunday - rest - hang around OKW - but no roller blading - hee hee - remember that post??? THIS is the night I am thinking of Adult night out..

Monday - TL - or just hang out some more...

Tuesday - return to reality...

What'ya guys think???? And yes, now heavily leaning toward PI .... no dancing, but we can all use a visit to a comedy club.. ESPECIALLY those of us that frequent this board.

You are all the best.
Sue

You already read day 2 of my trip report, PI is described there... you will have fun. The Adventurer's club is very funny, maybe more so. :)
