Thanks for any suggestions/advice. Posted this in the resort forum but should have posted here first, thank you all!

For my 60 bday I want to visit Magic K for 3 nights Jan 5-7 along with my hubby. We haven't visited Disney for 30 yrs. No kids and my hubby may get tired so would like a lounge in the hotel if he wants to rest with a brew. The value hotels are far away and I'm worried about spending time traveling but budget is fairly tight. The Swan is wow and I love to cook and admire Todd English and would love to see the bar and restaurant but with a 25$ fee, gee, pricey!

I would like to see Magic Kingdom for 2 days and Epcot for one day. Seems expensive to stay near MK but would like a lounge/bar in the hotel with casual restaurant and/or takeout as we'll probably have a later lunch break at a theme restaurant during the day.

Should I worry about the travel time/distances? if we stay at the Yacht Club how far walk is it to the Swan? When I called Disney for info she gave me different $ for the Swan and much less for the Yacht club. We don't care about the room or theme, just prefer quiet and a lounge and easy access.

Buy the tickets with the hotel room?

Look online for any deals?

Appreciate your help and thank you!

Hi, I've never stayed at an Epcot area hotel so I can't help you there but you are completely allowed to visit any hotel on property (no matter which one you are staying at) so if you're at Magic Kingdom and need a break but are staying at one of the values for example, you can just hop on the monorail and go chill out at the Grand Floridian. If the budget is tight then I would definitely stay somewhere cheaper and resort hop to the deluxes for your afternoon breaks

I guess my question to you is what does a budget or value hotel mean to you? Will you be renting a car? If it was me I might consider the wilderness lodge cabins.

The walk from YC to the Swan is maybe 5-10 mins depending on what part of YC you are at and what part of Swan you need to go to

If you get off the bus at YC and want to get food at the Swan, it's a 10 min walk.

It's definitely expensive to stay near MK, the cheapest option would be to camp at Fort Wilderness, and a close second would be the cabins, both where you'd have access to Davy Crockett's Tavern. Look into Port Orleans Riverside!! It's a moderate and not very far from MK bus wise, with a boat to DTD, where more lounges are available. It has a pool bar & the lounge as well. (also all the values have pool bars) Keep in mind most lounges don't open until later in the day (4pm and on)

Yacht Club is about a 5 min walk to the swan/entire boardwalk area. Also, the swan/dolphin has THE COMFIEST BEDS ON PROPERTY (with YC being the second). There's SO MANY amenities with the swalphin that the cost really becomes worth it with everything included.

You also have access to ALL the lounges on property, so even if you stay at a value resort, you can relax at the other lounges!

The Wilderness Lodge Cabins haven't even been built yet - actually not even started yet.
I think you are confusing Wilderness Lodge - a Deluxe Resort with Fort Wildernedd campgrounds

Yup that's what I meant to say
