Adult gift basket ideas

With all the talk about gift baskets, what have you received or given that is fun or unique...especially adult baskets? I want to have one done for my DH by our Ms. Shirley come January.

I had Shirley do a basket for my DH. I had her put in a six pack of corona, limes, a bag of pretzels and a newspaper. My dh is very hard to pick anything out for him. It was a really nice basket and my dh was surprised.

When we sailed in May, I Shirley and I put together a gift basket for DH (from his sweetheart, Minnie Mouse ). It included a bottle of his favorite vodka, martini olives and crackers that Shirley picked up and I shipped down a plastic martini shaker with a tropical theme and two colorful martini glasses. I can't remember what else Shirley put in there, but DH loved it!

Thats what I was thinking. DH enjoys his Jack Daniels and I enjoy my Bloody marys. I could have one made up with these its (inlcuding my V-8 for my BM's). How cool and handy would that be??? Oh the creative juices are flowing now.

Hhhmm..this has me thinking. My DH will be nearing his 50th birthday when we cruise. I wonder if I can have her make him up a special basket that would be in the room when we arrive. But what to put in it?

Barb, that reminds me...my DH will be turning the big 5-0 not during our January cruise, but in June. I could incorporate that in his basket. Now the question is with what????

Hey, Laurie,

My husband is still a little ways away from 50, but I think you could have some fun. IF he likes to read, ask Shirley to find a new book in his favorite genre -- there should be plenty of time to read! Also, I am a little hesitant to include a lot of food since it will be free on the ship, but I am considering chocolate covered strawberries for the adults in my party. You could include a few cans of his favorite soda, if he drinks it, so they can be put into the cooler box and he would have it on hand occasionally. Cigars if he likes them are small. I'm going to have single-packet gourmet hot chocolate varieties for my mom in her room since there isn't much of a choice on the ship and she loves cocoa.

What does your husband like to do for fun or what excursions are you planning? You might get ideas from that.

Cindy, you just gave me another great idea. DH loves cigars and I could get them to Shirley along with his Jack Daniels. I think I should contact Shirley soon. Thanks so much for this idea!!!!

I think a good idea for a basket would be a pair of binnoculars. I read that idea on another post and liked it.
