Adult Drinks

Oooo, Taniahappy - these look fabulous! The Cove Bar is definitely going to be on our MUST DO list!! The Fun Wheel looks so cool!! Thanks for sharing and I'll be going to check out your report right now!

Cove Bar definitely has a "secret menu" the Fun Wheel was DELICIOUS, and there's another one that's simliar to a long island but has chambord in it! If you google the menu you'll know what to order!

I recommend the lobster nachos.

DCA has several nice bars as do Downtown Disney and the hotels. DL is alcohol free unless you can score an invite to Club 33. (In which case the chocolate martini is not to be missed.)

Go to the Carthay Circle lounge and ask for the "Queen's Apple". Our server during Halloweentime was an opening day bar tender and recommended it to us over the novelty drink that was being offered at the time. His exact words were...are you ordering it for the glowing skull, or because you want a good drink. I can't remember exactly what was in it, but it was red and delicious and not on the menu.

Do you happen to remember what's in the Queen's Apple? All I could find on Google is that it's pinkish and has a cherry in it.

Here's DFB's article on the secret menu at Cove Bar...I'm definitely getting the Zombie!

At Trader Sam's my go to drink is the Passionate Python. It's amazing!

Thanks for the link to the Cove Bar, huggybuff!! I can't wait to try the Fun Wheel!! I think I'll need to go there at least twice. :goodvibes

our favorite is the Catal Uva Bar in the middle of downtown disney. Good service, if there are seats at the bar you can grab one an not wait in line, good place to meed itneresting people. The bar at Grand California is also nice. Trader Sams has such horrible service we dropped them. In the parks the wine bar at Cal Adventure is our favorite. Beware drinks at disney are not cheap.

This will be the first time I am planning a trip that might include an adult beverage or two. I am always "mom" on trips and "mom" doesn't drink and is always the driver.

This trip, I am solo and across the street. I am not much of a drinker but once in a blue moon, a nice adult beverage to end the day is enjoyed.

Mary Jo - That terrace looks fantastic! I'm hoping the weather is decent at the end of February. I'm reading that it can be anywhere from in the 70's to the 50's... which is still spectacular compared to the Wisconsin weather that I'm used to at that time of year.

longboard55 - The service at Trader Sam's wasn't good? I'm a little skeptical about the service since I've heard it's always so busy there... maybe we'll have better luck since we're going when it's not that busy? :/

Thank you everyone for your posts! I'm getting so excited! :hyper:

Just a tip, We go to Trader Sams around 4:00 to have a little drink before dinner and it's has always been slow at that time.

We had great service when we went to Trader Sam's a few weeks ago, but it was our first time there so maybe we were just lucky. But I wanted to point out with regard to crowds affecting the service, they limit how many people they let in at one time. When we went they had someone stationed at the door counting how many people leave before letting new groups in, and while that made the wait longer, we appreciated it because it was not crammed with people and the bartenders could keep up. We went at a busy time so I was worried about that.

That's a good idea! Although, with park hours only being 9 AM to 8 PM (based off of the historical data I've seen), I don't know if we'll want to leave the parks for a drink and then go back and forth... I'm hoping we're able to get there by about 9 and not have too much of an issue at the end of February... :/ I guess we can just see how it goes the first night and if it just does not work at all, rework it! Thanks.

Not yet...
We were going to go yesterday, but ran out of time. I'll be there some time over the next few days, and I'll post the answer when I order one (and I will be). We went to Trader Sam's last night, and I got Mosquito Mojito, and a Seasonal Drink called the Red Nosed Reindeer. TS's was fun, but we've ultimately decided that the UVA bar is the best place at the Disneyland Resort to get a drink...

Trader Sam's is nice at night and as mentioned the service tends to be horrible. I've waited over 20 minutes for a drink before.

For the Beer Lovers
The only thing I haven't see mentioned here already is that there is a bar a little further down from the wine bar at wine trattoria(to the left of the restaurant, rather large open area) that has a selection of california's most popular craft beer (Sculpin, Hangar 24). The wine bar serves corona and bud light. Flo's cafe serves Racer 5/Grand AM/Sangria/wine as well.

This was our experience last night...
The server was either bored, burnt out, or uninterested or all of the above and when we wanted to pay our bill he had completely disappeared. We finally handed it to another server, and it took nearly 20 minutes to get it back. It wasn't a particularly busy night and certainly a far cry from how it was when TS first opened.

We went to TS Grog Grotto at the Polynesian in October and the atmosphere was lively, what's more was the service was amazing... ! I hope they keep it up and don't regress like the TS's here.

I'll have to let my husband know about the beer there! :) Thanks for the tips.

View attachment 140239 Trader Sams is a must,
Another great place is the MadTParty is DCA with glowcubes

Carthay Circle has glowciube drinks
Wine Trattoria for craft beer or wine
Margaritas at Rita Margaritas in DCA
House of Blues has Mason Jar drinks

Late Night or Early (6am!)
Hearthstone Lounge
Trader Sams
Paradise Pier Surfside Cafe

Generally, DCA has beer and wine freely available you can carry around the park. Disneyland not so much
I also really enjoyed the mad T party and drinks there!! The atmosphere is like a really awesome club with live music (covers but they are great). We got a red rose I think it's called and it was tasty image.jpgimage.jpg
