adult couple trip report day1 -3/5

Cast - me - age 33 - disneyholic
dbf - 32- can't deal with all the planning but loves wdw

Our 4th trip to the world together.

We stayed at a Ramada by the airport the night before because we had a 7:00 am flight. Took the shuttle to the airport and after struggling with all my luggage for awhile dbf gave in and carried most of it. ( before we left he threatened if I packed one more thing he refused to help me with my luggage). Everything at the airport went smoothly and we were off. Landed right on time but waited what seemed like forever for our luggage. I love that first view of palm trees when you land at MCO.
Found the Mears stop and waited about 15 min for a bus....not too bad.
Arrived at ASmovies and waited to check in. Check in took quite awhile. When I finally got to the counter, our CM was great. She was also from PA and we chatted about how one year when she was down here she called her mom ...told her to put the house for sale and just stayed. Meanwhile dbf was getting cranky. The plane ride bothered his ear and he wasn't feeling all that great. Our Cm told me all about our pkg and offered me a parking pass for my dbf ...if he got too cranky ...I could make him stay in the parking lot. With all the chatting and explaining we missed our ps for 50's PT. So she made us a later one. Luckily there was a room ready and it was just the one we wanted. Toy Story 3rd floor...perfect. We brought our luggage to our room and headed off to MGM. Made it just in time for our PS at 50's PT. We had a great meal and dbf cheered up a bit. Headed over to R&R on a full stomach...wasn't sure if that was such a good idea...but we were fine. I love that ride. DBF 's ear was still bothering him so we only did a couple more things...Voyage of the little mermaid ...and the backlot tour...because he had not seen either of these before. I wanted to stay for Fantasmic but decided to go back to the room because he was starting to get cranky again. We returned to the resort showered and rested and decided on Coral reef for a late dinner because we missed the ps for brown derby that I had made for before Fantasmic. Went to Coral reef and had a great dinner. Dbf was in better spirits after eating. We had missed illuminations so we just headed back to the resort and went to sleep.

I know what you mean about seeing the palm trees as you land at MCO. For me that is when all the excitement starts to set in.

Thanks for the report. I, too, agree about the palm trees as you are arriving at MCO. Seeing them gives me the "I'm really here" feeling!
