Day 5
Dbf surprisingly did not wake up with a hangover. Someone up there must really like him. .however he was a little slower getting out of bed today. Once awake and refreshed we decide to head to Epcot today. We headed down to the food court to grab a quick breakfast ..no sense in wasting a wish by skipping a meal. Besides, I had not gotten my traditional Mickey waffle. Dbf make our choices at the food court and purchase our refillable mugs .I know a little late in the game for this...but this is also a tradition. Playfully argue for a few minutes on who gets to get the black one since we both want that color...I win ...I get the black one. Ok, now with my Mickey waffle in hand and my mug of choice I know this is gonna be a good day. We eat and catch the Epcot bus. We do Spaceship Earth since there is no wait...and head on over to leave a legacy. I remembered to bring our voucher for this so I figure we might as well take advantage of it while we are here. We get our pic taken and talk about how one day we can bring our kids here and they can see mom and dad while we still looked good ...lol. We hit ice station cool on the way to the Land. The CMs are throwing snow as we enter. Do they think this is funny??? This is not funny!!!! I came here to escape the massive amounts of snow I have seen up north. We make it through to the soda tasting part. We try everyone and I then tell dbf to try the Beverly. My conscience gets the better of me and I warn him that Ive heard it is very bad. Oh boy is it !!!!!! I know everyone warns you...but I figure ..how bad can it be???? Well .spent the next few minutes trying to get that horrid taste out of our mouths. They say on the description it is supposed to stimulate the appetite .HOW????? Maybe by making you eat something to get that taste out of your mouth.
We head on up to the Land since we have always ignored this pavilion. Go on the boat ride...dbf thinks this so cool. I though it was ok ..all these plants and fields kinda look like home to me ...no big deal. We then head on over to JIYI. Dbf has also never done this ride,,,and then into Honey I shrunk the audience where I successfully remove my glasses before the snake part ..that wouldve caused some good nightmares. I stop at the Kodak shop to buy a new memory card for the camera ..need to get more pics !!!!!!! Need to document every moment. DBF thinks I am a little nuts but just lets me go. We decide to do lunch. He says he is hungry for beef on a stick...so I suggest shish kabobs at Marrakkesh. We have a nice lunch and dbf especially enjoys the bellydancer. I would still like to see Fantasmic so we decide to walk around WS until it is time to head over to MGM. We check out France and then head back to Morocco and catch the boat across to Germany. Just as we get on the boat ..downpour. Ok, I keep saying to myself it will be a quick shower ..I wont miss Fantasmic again !!!
In Germany we head to the candy store where I have to get my traditional bag of those raspberry candies. Dbf picks outs a pack of gummy cherries. The rain stops ...yes!!! And we head on over to Italy. There are some very handsome men here !!!! So we walk around Italy as I continue to talk to dbf about where I would like to take pics. I continue talking for about another 5 min until I turn around and realize he is not next to me. As I scan the area looking for him I notice him and another family giggling at me. Ok ..you guys are real funny. The father of the family offers to take our pic together. ...and we do. We thank him and continue to head over to the American Pavilion. I tell dbf I would like to see the WTC flag. I live in PA and he lives in NJ so both of us have seen many people directly affected by this tragedy. I ask the CM standing by the door if it is possible to see it. She says the next show isnt for another half hour .but sees my disappointment .and says hold on a sec. She checks with the CM inside and then lets us in. We head over to take a pic. I dont know why but just looking at it in the empty building brought tears to my eyes. It standing all alone in the empty building felt very eery. We thank the CM again and head over t o Japan. DBF decide he wants to try sake. So we go into the little counter service
place and he orders us 2 sake and some beef skewers for himself. Sets the tray down on the table and I go to grab a napkin and up flies the glass of sake all over dbf and the table ..I am such a klutz sometimes .well ..most of the time. Apologize and we try to clean up the mess. Poor dbf now smells of sake. Good thing I spilled the one glass because dbf takes a sip of it and makes a face like I have never seen. So not to waste a second glass ..dbf and I take turns holding our breath and taking a big gulp. Eeeeeek this stuff is really bad. It starts to rain again. We head into Mitsukoshi dept store where I ponder picking out an oyster for a pearl but decide not to. I pick up a T-shirt for dbf with the japanese symbol for strong on it. ( DBF is a powerlifter) I show him it and he loves it. It is still raining and I have come to terms with the fact I am not going to get to see Fantasmic tonight either. I buy us a couple of Mickey ponchos and we decide to conquer the rest of WS. We explore the other countries and decide to eat at Le Cellier for dinner. We head over there to make a ps for about 7:30. We are told nothing is available until 8:10. Ok, what do we do. I really wanted to see illuminations. DBF is dying to try this place so I say ok. The CM tells us we can go out during illumiantions to watch if we want. Ok, we have some time to kill so we decide to watch the film in Canada. It is beautiful film but .I got a little motion sick. This is weird because I can do rollercoasters that go up side down and all kind of spinny rides ..but this film knocked me on my butt. We get out of the film and still have some time to kill so we walk around a little while I am hoping my stomach settles before dinner. DBF decides to make friends with a duck while I am in one of the stores. I asked him what he was doing. He said the duck just walked up to him. Hmmmmm?? So the duck just sat and stared and quacked at him for awhile until I had to pull him away so we could eat dinner. We were seated promptly at 8:10. Dinner was great and our waitress Koreen was a blast. We never went out to watch illuminations. We were just too relaxed and happy where we were. After dinner we decided to head down to the marketplace to do some shopping so we wouldnt have to rush the last day like we usually do. I decide to check out the scrapbooking store and find some really cute stickers for the kids I teach in dance class. I had every intention of heading to the Disney store when dbf spotted the Basin store. He asked what it was and I told him it had stuff like Bath and Body works. Oh no .I knew I would never make it to the Disney store tonight. DBF was fascinated with everything. For a big powerlifter guy he sure loves his scented lotions. Since the store was close to closing we headed out with a bottle of bubble bath and some body butter for him. The Marketplace was closing so we headed back to the resort. I stopped in the food court for a bottle of wine. Headed back to the room and relaxed with a bubble bath and some wine.
