We've gone as:

Drew Carey and MiMi (I stuffed my dress with pillows).

Fred and Wilma Flintstone.

Charlie Brown and Lucy.

Right after we had DS, we went as crayons...DH was Blue, and I was Yellow, and DS was Green.

A friend said she saw an idea online.. wear pig's ears & noses & write H1 on one shirt & N1 on the other.

I'm going to DH's unit party as a schoolgirl, he's going as a school teacher

Don't worry, my shirt will cover everything and my skirt is only a few inches above my knees.

One year my husband and I went as beatniks. It was a fun, comfortable costume and we won an award.

Last year my DBf and I went as Popeye and Olive Oyl. The year before two other couples joined us and we went as the Scooby Doo gang. And the year before that we were Danny and Sandy from Grease.

This year we are going as Kermit and Miss Piggy. I have a floor length red silky gown, gloves, pearls and piggy ears! Hopefully everyone will know who I am.

I've done the same costume for the last 2 years. Latex style boy paint all over, green. Green dyed jacket, shoes and pants, starch it to hell to make it stiff. spray painted green helmet and gun. Green toy army man.

I am what you call committed, i even painted my eyelids and ears.


I usually spend the next day surfing to help wash it all off... never works.

i'm wearing the costume i made for dd a couple of years ago-

a black t-shirt with reflective tape in small rectangles down the middle, and then scattered on the shirt are assorted small stuffed animals that i used a can of paint and an old bike tire to make tire marks on. some of the animals i removed some of the stuffing where the tire ran it over. a bit of blood coming from the animals noses, eyes and ears. i wear it with black pants and i am officialy "ROAD KILL".

what realy makes the costume is the one stuffed cow that has a realy poorly made sound chip in it-i can press a button and it gives out a dying "mmmmmmooooo"


a REALY easy costume (and it can be a couples) is to put post its on your clothes with notes like "study for math test", "practice spelling words", "get books for term paper"...then get a bag of cheap army toys from the dollar store and pull out all the helicopters which you can glue on and either bobby pin to your hair or glue to a baseball cap. if you can find (or make) one of those "my kid is an honor student at xyz school" and slap it on your butt you can go as a "HELICOPTER PARENT"

Most people who aren't from St. Paul or the surrounding area won't get this, but we are going as East Siders. I am born and raised an East Sider...but somehow I escaped the "look". I can't wait to show up with my super high bangs and stonewashed jeans (pinned at the ankles) and my day-glo socks!
