We will be in WDW for three days mid May. DH will be 41 and I want to do something extra special for his bday. Richard Petty Driving and Living Seas diving are both out of the question. Does ANYBODY have ANY ideas of what I can do for him while we are there?? Thanks!!! :confused3

I don't know how quickly it books up, but what about the Segway tour at Epcot? DH and I did this last year. It was great!

How about a ballon flight? We did this in 2004. DH is afraid of heights but he wants to do it again this year!

It's an early start, lasts 2/3 hours in total (including setting up and champagne breakfast afterwards) but you have the rest of the day free! :cloud9:

Are these out of the question because of the cost or are they not something that your husband would like? I'm asking to better understand what you're looking for.

I agree that the Segway Tour would be cool. Here's a link with some information.

RP Driving is out because he is too large to squeeze into the car window to get into the car and diving because he said he would never want to dive where the guests could watch. It would make him extremely uncomfortable. He is SO shy that I can not even have even have Happy Bday sung for him at restaurants. So that means the birthday pin is out of the question also :rotfl2: . Thats why I am so desperate for ideas, I just don't know Disney as well as many of you do. I am sure someone will mention the perfect idea!!!! Thanks for your help!!!! :cloud9:

Does he like to fish or even have a mild interest in fishing? You could do a fishing excursion. What about golfing? I did this once for my husband as a day off from the Disney-mania. He loved it! There are also the backstage tours that you could book.

Good luck!

LOL!!!!!! He hates both golf and fishing!! In fact, he hates all sports, especially soccer. He is from Germany and was forced to play it as a kid, left lifelong scars, lol! Now the balloon ride sounds cool, he has done that before and loved it. Is this a Disney thing or an outside company that we would contact? Thanks!!

First of all I hope you get more suggestions! I've read that the "Dine With WDW Animal Programs" is fun and different
http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dine_akp.htm
Or Dine with an Imagineer
http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dine_imag.htm
Or how about dinner at Victoria and Albert's at the Chef's Table

And thank you for answering my question. I didn't mean to be nosey  . I can totally relate to the reasons why your husband doesn't want to do those things. I'm afraid to dive  and I would NOT want to dive in a glass tank with people watching  .

If you want something more private you can have Gifts of a Lifetime plan a special birthday "event" just for him. You fill out a questionnaire and they come up with an event based on his likes.

I hired them for dh's 40th birthday and they sent him on a Villain Scavenger hunt through MGM. They left clues all around the park that he had to find in order to locate his birthday present (which I supplied). To this day he's says it's the most fun he's ever had. No one (except one girl at an ice cream cart) ever knew what we were doing.

We hired them again for ds' birthday trip next month. We're doing a Star Wars themed event.

You can check them out at www.giftsofalifetime.com.

Something my dh would love would be to eat at the Yachtsman at the YC and then to rent the "Breathless" (a wooden speedboat) there for an Illuminations Cruise. I think they will even serve assorted fruit, wine or other beverages, and a Birthday cake if you want.

Here's a pic:

Have you seen Cirque yet? It is my DH's favorite Disney thing. I think he'd insist I got tickets eveey trip even if he knew the price.... :rotfl2: .

I'd also recomend Gifts of a Lifetime. :thumbsup2 Also, if you have a couple of friends and family you want to invite, you can have have a birthday party at Winter Sumerland mini golf . They provide the cake, decorations, and souvies.

I asked my dh what he wanted to do for his birthday once at disney. He said he wanted to feel like a king and eat in the castle which we did once for lunch. We didnt tell them it was his birthday but we asked for a candle to put in his dessert when we ordered it. For our trip this past easter a few weeks ago dh did enjoy driving the pontoon boat around bay lake and the seven seas lagoon. We got some food from captain cooks at the polynesian and took it on board. We rented the boat for an hour and had a nice time. We have 3 ds and I think the boat holds 6. There is a little smaller boat but we liked this one. Maybe you can show him the menus on allears and see what he likes etc. How about one of the disney tours. Many include lunch etc. Good luck.

Just also wondering if he would enjoy the food at Biergarten, Germany in Epcot and the entertainment there?
