Adult beverages on the Fantasy...

Hubby and I loved cove cafe. Fantastic drinks in there. Not watered down at all. Better than the Bucks with Stars if you catch my drift. ;)

I'm the only alcohol drinker in our family, and I'm a big fan of mixed drinks. I had the drink of the day every night at dinner, and the pina colava in between. My current fave, obsession and craving. :)

We love the "coffee" in the Cove Cafe. My favourite is the mint mocha latte (espresso, creme de menthe, chocolate syrup). DH once ordered the Cafe Gates (IIRC - espresso, Galliano, Tia Maria and something else alcoholic) and asked for some milk in it. The server look at him appalled - "You can't put milk or cream in it. Here let me put some Bailey's in if you want it creamy". And proceeded to add it. Watered down it was not.

I had a (somewhat) similar experience when I asked after the drink of the day and found out it had Sprite in it. I said "oh no, I can't have Sprite" and the bartender immediately made me a version with all the booze and none of the Sprite for the same price.

I had my first pina colava on my Magic cruise last month. And my second pina colava. And my third....

We had a couple of the specialty drinks that they offer at dinner, and they were good. Can't remember the names, would have to look at menus. My fav drinks to order are the BBC and a Miami Vice. Yum! The Konk Cooler is good, but lately they have made it more like ice cream than an actual drink and by the time they get it to you at CC, it is mostly melted. :P

:surfweb: So many choices! Thanks for the suggestions. Can someone tell me what the "passport" is? is it a discount drink package?:drinking1

From Scott's blog:

Skyline Passport
Skyline on the Disney Fantasy offers a passport card for $59. The Skyline Passport card entitles you to seven hand-crafted martinis, themed to each to the cities of the seven rotating European skylines. Breaking this down, you will get seven martinis for the price of six.

I was hoping it wasn't just for martinis. I have not had a martini I have liked yet. Is there any other kind of drink discount card like the passport card? My husband gets the beer mug and I have tried a drink of the day a few times on previous cruises.

I had my first Pina Colava at the Poly back in 2010. Since then, it's a must have anytime I'm at WDW and I get it at least once each cruise. Too bad it's never a drink of the day.

I've never had a BBC but it's on my list to try on our next cruise.

I'm pretty sure it's what I got with dinner at Boma on debarkation night, too. Got a little predictable at the end there.

What's a BBC?

BBC is the best! Our pool server started bringing them on our first cruise years ago and it's been my pool drink ever since.

They are not "just martinis". They may be in martini glasses, but they are not all gross gin. I don't like martinis at all (as evidenced by my "gross gin" comment), but they have some yummy drinks in there!

I agree. I can't stand most martinis but I was able to get drinks I enjoyed in Skyline. When I was on the Fantasy a couple years ago, Laurence was the main bartender in Skyline and he had a lemon vanilla martini made with Grey Goose vodka which was outstanding. It was his own concoction, and he let us get it using the Skyline passport even though it wasn't on the menu. I read Laurence moved to the Wonder and I'm disappointed he won't be on the Fantasy when I sail on it in May. I am hoping he passed his recipe along to whomever is the bartender in Skyline on the Fantasy now.

I was going to mention Laurence and his lemon vanilla martini! It was so good. I will look for him on the Wonder when we sail next February.

Agree with you on pina colava! Is there a virgin type of this drink?

I was VERY partial to the Paris drink with the blinky cube in it. :) I also tried the ouzo one - they said they went light on the ouzo for me because I'd never had it before.

I also suggest the passport at Skyline (it's a cute booklet that has drink recipes; makes a nice souvenir!). At Skyline, our favorite drinks are the Aquincum (along the lines of a margarita), Paris 75, Ooh La La, Berryoska. If you google Skyline Disney Fantasy menu, you can see the list of drinks and what's in them.
At Meridian bar (deck 13 aft), they've changed the drink menu, but I think you can still get these drinks which are my favorites: Limone Basilico, Chambord Mojito Martni, Le Grand Bleu, and Pomegranate Passion. I guess I love most all of the drinks there and the view is out of this world, looking out the back windows. The martini glasses are a nice big size so I think the price is pretty reasonable.
Have fun!

I agree with the passport - and it can be shared between two people if fewer drinks is better...also, I recommend getting the blinky ice cube drink and take it through the back door into the Tube for the adult activities! And, the plastic ice cubes make a great souvenir...
