Adult Activities to Appease the Husband?

I've finally done it! I have convinced my husband to take me to Disney World!!! ( I agreed to stop smoking if he agreed to the trip, everyone wins right?) We are going in February! EEEK! I am so excited!!!! I'm a total Disneyphile! Always have been. I started going with my family when I was 3, and have been many many times since.
The Husband on the other hand, went as a kid, once and therefore doesn't see the appeal of 2 childless adults going. He actually said " wont people think we are creepers? Going without kids?" I explained that this was not the case.
My inner kid is jumping up and down thinking about Fantasyland and the Castle and how I'll cry when I see it and well just everything! Husband doesn't seem to have an inner kid. Not one I can reach at least.
So my question is, what adult type things can I mix in to the plans to appease him? I initially thought we'd do a "Pleasure Island" night of bar hopping. Sadly I find that the clubs all closed in 2008. ( my last trip was in '07) so I am now at a loss. What can I plan to make him feel as though I've not taken him to a land of nothing but children?

It can be harder to find things to do at night, but Jellyrolls is an adults only dueling piano bar at the Boardwalk that is a great time. Also, you could grab a drink at the Polynesian Tambu bar and take it out to the beach to watch the fireworks at night. The Pleasure Island area still has Raglan Road which is a great bar to visit at night, and then head over the hot air balloon for a nightime ride as long as the winds are co-operating.

For fun daytime activities, I recommend La Cava Del Tequila at Epcot for some great margaritas. Tutto Gusto's a wine bar in Epcot that has some great snacks and wines. You should also look into some of the tours geared more towards adults like Keys to the Kingdom, Wild Africa trek, or the Ft Wilderness Segway tour.

Have lots of sex lol. :) Try to find a resort with lots of quiet pools/spas....that would help!! Honestly late at night after fireworks, magic kingdom is dead..hardly any kids!

It depends on what you are into:
sports: golf, fishing, RPDE, marathon, bowling, ESPN Club, WWS/ESPN Zone, etc
shopping: DTD, area outlet malls, large scale malls
drinking: Jellyrolls, Raglan Road, EPCOT countries tour, monorail tour of resorts, walking tour of resorts in the Boardwalk area
movies: DTD 24 screen theater some with meals served by waiters
night clubbing: Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, Raglan Road, Citywalk
resort tours: monorail tour of resorts, Boardwalk around the lake tour of resorts, AKL/AKV
offsite: Gaylord Palms Resort, Citywalk, swamp tour

Really thought this thread was going in a different direction hahaha.

There are plenty of things to do for adults, does your husband fish? I believe you do some fishing along the lake.

Jelly rolls is another good option someone said before, and you most defiantly should check out the fine dining.

I'll be taking my DH for his first time since he was a kid next October 2014. I figured it was the perfect time considering the F&W festival. I am plenty good at adult WDW since I've only been there as an adult with no kids ever. I think the most important park to point his attention to is Epcot. Make sure for the other parks you plan accordingly to "get them out of the way", with adult entertainment at night. HS studios is adult enough and has the Rockin' Roller Coaster, so you can probably appease him there. Try to stay out of MK at night. You can always show up just in time for Wishes before heading back to your resort for the night (or venturing to The Boardwalk or Downtown Disney). Raglan Road is great entertainment in the after hours. Find dining and ADRs that he'll enjoy. DH loves butter chicken and I'm super excited to introduce him to Sanna and he like good old fashion breakfast and I think Kona Café is going to be amazing to him (followed by an unlimited height Dole Whip). Luckily, AK can be treated as a one day park. Make sure you get it all done (Safari, Everest, Dinosaur, Lion King Festival, Bug's Life, Pictures in front of tree), so you don't have to come back. Have a resort day / his day towards the end of the trip. Don't make any ADRs, let him decide where he wants to go (whether it is a park / water park / DTD / pool / sleep). One trip, by ex and I ended up getting a taxi to US/IoA - totally reasonable. Bought ticket online using AAA discount. He really appreciated my willingness to spend a day outside of Disney. If you can avoid going on the obviously kiddy themed rides (sadly Peter Pan and especially it's a smal world is included in this), then you guys can have a great time. I'm definitely devoting one day to eating around the world and a afternoon/night drinking around the world. I haven't done this yet and I know DH will LOVE it.

Aside from the rides as an adult male I enjoy going to Epcot to enjoy all the food and drinks. I also enjoy hanging around the resorts (I always stay on property) having a nice sit-down meal, relaxing by the pool or explore the other resorts. Although I am not into it you can always check to see what is going on in the ESPN area. I am sure you'll find something to do.

Congrats on quitting smoking! My upcoming trip is to celebrate 18 months of not smoking. I saved all the money I used to spend on cigs for this trip. I'm treating DH since he has kissed and loved me for 17 years as a smoker.

We are taking our adult only trip during food and wine. We are combining it with universal and their halloween horror nights. You could add a universal portion for their mardi gras stuff, although feb may be too early sine fat tuesday is march 4 next year,

That should work!

Haha! You're a disgrace!!

At risk of getting flamed for disloyalty, Universal's Citywalk is a much more mainstream adult experience. The bars are much less reliant on their theme and get really busy on a weekend.

Going with my husband mid November and the one thing we read about that he decided was his thing was "Dining with an Imagineer". We opted for the Lunch session at Brown Derby. But there is dinner at Flying Fish.
I haven't posted enough so it won't let me put the link for you. But you should be able to find on Disney site. I booked that ADR on my 180 day. yay!

There are books and articles full of ideas. Do a Google search. I found tons of things.

Can't wait!

* ESPN Club
* ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (probably training camp time for Major League Baseball)
* Splitsville for Bowling
* Orlando Magic Basketball Game (Downtown Orlando)
* BW3s @ Route 535 near Downtown Disney for wings and lots of flat screens
* NASA (drive to the coast and take tour if he's in to space stuff)
* Nike Outlet @ Orlando Premium Outlets (guys love that place)

Enjoy your time together!

Go see La Nouba, it's a great show. If he likes to golf, Disney has a couple of great course on property. If not a big golfer, try one of the mini courses like Fantasia Gardens. Check the schedule of entertainment at the HofB, maybe catch a concert. Like bowling, try the new Splitsville. Take a stroll on the boardwalk and people watch. Try a micro brew at Big River grill and brewery while on the boardwalk. Others have already mentioned Jellyrolls, this place is a lot of fun. Like others have also said walk around World Showcase and sample the treats, beer or wine found at each location. Try the Grand Marnier Orange slush in France, its wonderful!::yes:: Strike up a conversation with the CM's in each country. That is always a fun conversation. I'm a 50 yo men who loves to go to Disney and just chill out by the pool with a cold drink in my hand. Now that is living.... I know you said you are going in Feb, which can be cold at that time. The pools are heated, so you can still enjoy that nice cold drink in the warm pool or hot tub. There is so much you can do at Disney without even going to the parks to have a great time. I've been going to Dis for years, earlier trip with the kids. Now the kids are grown and I enjoy it more now then ever. I bet he will have a blast.

what is he in to?

disney has something for everyone.

at DD = there is the new bowling alley (okay an insult to call it that)

tell more of what he wants - if he only goes to the beach - well allow him to swim and enjoy the place while you go to the parks.

there are touring stuff - at MK, Epcot, Studio and AK and the water parks too - now these do cost extra - but most of them are worth it.

As others have pointed out, what is HE interested in? There are lots of outdoor type activities, especially in the Wilderness Lodge area, plus several golf courses. Then again, he may just enjoy sitting by the pool most of the day.

There are several guidebooks geared toward adults visiting WDW. You can find them on Amazon. I used the Unofficial Guide for Grown-Ups to help plan my last trip and found some good tips in it.

One suggestion was to take a back-stage tour of the parks. I took "Keys to the Kingdom" at MK in June and it was the highlight of my trip. Highly recommend it. There is several tours to choose from.

Another suggestion was to drink and eat around the world at Epcot's World Showcase. I semi-did it this trip with wine in France, Italy and Germany, and beer in the UK and Germany, meals in the UK and Germany, and other assorted snacks along the way (on separate visits over two days). I meant to get back to try some other adult beverages in Morocco, Japan, Mexico, and Norway, but never quite made it - perhaps next time!
