Ads showing up on the DIS when running adblocker?

This is odd..I usually never get any ads on the DIS, as I am running adblocker. But for the last 3x I have been on this board, I keep getting McDonald's pop ups in the middle of the screen. Filet of Fish, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder., anyone else getting these all of a sudden? And how are they getting through the ad blocker?

I've never found an add blocker for my phone or tablet (both android) that works. My desktop hasn't shown any ads.

What browser are you using? I am running multiple adblockers in Firefox and am not seeing them. You might also have some malware that is actually serving the ads locally.

LOL I will order myself a Big Mac while I am ordering yours..no onions on mine either. I usually get a craving for one a couple of times a year. Thanks to that ad, now I want one!

Its only my desktop that is showing them..that's what is odd!

I am using Chrome on a desktop. I already ran Malware Bytes and it found nothing. I can't stand Edge, and I find Chrome easier to use than Firefox. Not getting those ads on my tablet or phone.

Not a big fan of firefox, and since this is the only ad I am seeing, I'll live with it for now. And this is weird. I haven't been on since I originally posted this thread, and now those ads are gone! Sure, now that I want a Big Mac!

Make sure your adblocker software's lists are up to date.

Try ublock origin in chrome. Really, if the ads weren’t so disruptive, I’d leave them on so that Pete and co can make money. But they’re really obtrusive.

I use AdBlockerPlus and I have absolutely no ads popping up, either here on DISboards or any other website I visit.

Everyone should run pi-hole and a VPN. Pi-hole prevents ads on all my devices at home, wired or wireless, and my devices when away from home because I VPN back to my house.

I have two ad blockers running. I used to only have AdBlockerPlus, but I started having that problem... ads showing up on the DIS. So I now also run Adblocker Ultimate. If one doesn't catch it, the other will.

Me too. And I have to close down the page and reload it. Very annoying!

When this happens, I can usually just hit the "back" button and it takes me the previous page. Extremely annoying though.

I'm running adblocker, but currently getting a Disneyworld ad- I'm guessing that's just something embedded in the site. That's fine. So long as it's not those videos and other elements bogging down loading.
