Ads Are Messing With Typing Entries

The ads on this site cause issues with typing out replies. Each time the ads recycle, (I am guessing that is what they are doing) it stops your typing and moves your cursor to who knows where. ?? Happens every 30 - 60 seconds. Very aggravating and not user friendly at all. This is limited to the Disboards. I do not find this happening on any other website. I have tried multiple devices and multiple browsers. The only one I have not tried is my phone because there is not a keyboard attached.

Yes, this one cost me a keyboard last week. lol
So frustrating to be typing a nice long reply, then realizing it stopped typing 4 paragraphs ago.

Also I notice today that even when I go to click back into the text box, the cursor doesn't even want to stay in the box (or anywhere else, like not in typing mode, just reading only mode)

Yeah, I have to click in the text box multiple times to get the cursor back and begin typing again.

This happens to me on mobile and one of the main reasons I hate replying on mobile. I've also had the keyboard disappear, links shows up, and when I think I'm hitting a letter, I'm actually clicking on a link. VERY frustrating!

I came to see if there was a report on this already. This is as annoying as hell. Literally, so aggravating that I am done with the Disboards for a bit until this is resolved.

Here is the latest... trying to click the like button & it opens another window from "clicking on an ad" but i only hope that isn't some kind of hack to get more ad clicks, because that will be the death of these forums. lol

Finally, I clicked the like button 100x and this popped up?

Gosh I hope not. People are already leaving Disney and it seems to have affected the traffic on these forums. When I used to come here in 2019/2020 I could not keep up. Now it seems they are the same posts over and over. :(

Same issues today, and i am in Wide Mode on a PC. So freakin frustrating. Do ad blockers fix these issues?

Same issue for me today, but see it has been a while since others have reported it. I would note that when certain ads load (looking at you Douglas Mattress) I can't click back into the window until the next ad change. Waith for 30 seconds until the next ad comes up and I can click in the input area and start typing again.

Anyone got a viable fix for this yet?

ETA: Google Chrome browser Version 126.0.6478.128 (Official Build) (64-bit)

EATA: Checked the About Chrome page for the above and noticed that there was a pending update (although now message on the address bar). Did the browser restart, will see if that helps and report back if still an issue. I find that lots of stuff stops working correctly when Chrome wants care and feeding. My .128 build is now .183

Thank you to the OP and everyone else who has chimed in about this, I often have these problems myself and certainly agree about how frustrating they are. Maybe if enough of us say something....
