ADR's

We will be going as a greater family in Dec. 2006 to WDW. We have been there several times before, and we are wondering about ADR's. We have always made PS's in the past, so this is no mystery to us, but my question is this: My BIL says he doesn't want to overcommitt us with resrevations, but I am saying that, although we don't have to plan every night, if we think we may want to dine in a certain restaurant a certain night, we should make ADR's to keep our spot. If I am not mistaken, if you don't show up, they just seat sombody else ... we had ressies at BG last trip, but our day just got too long so we deciced to just have dinner back at POR. I called to make sure this was no big deal, and they assured me that it wasn't. Is it OK to make ADR's without causing problems if you just can't make it?

The only ones that would be a prob with are ones they take your credit card to hold. I have 8 and only 2 are cc hold so I noted that so I would make sure to keep them. I have never been but the Dis has taught me to go prepared and if plans change then accomadate. It would be so much better to have them booked and change your mind than not and wanting and not able to get one. Here's a little peace to try and help with BIL.

We just did adr for August. We are a family of 7 and we did have a little difficulty about time but it worked out. BUT IT HAS BECOME A NECESSITY since the DDP started. We were a family that the day we went to a park would call reservations then for a PS. So, I would do adr's as much as possible.

Do you remember the old kiosok in Epcot when you walked up to TV screen outside of Germany.

They don't seem to mind if you miss your ADR's however they do like for you to call and cancel them. This way they can open the table for someone else.
