In order to make ADRs, does the vacation need to be paid in full? We have paid the deposit and we have to pay the balance in april I believe, can I still make ADRs in advance? Oh and what is the likelihood that we could get an ADR the day of? :goodvibes thanks

You don't even need a hotel reservation to make an ADR. (Sort of - the only time you need a hotel reservation is if you want to take advantage of the 180+ 10, where you can make all of your dining reservations for 10 days from the date of check in. But even that only requires a reservation - not a paid one. :) )

As long as you're within 180 days of the date you want to dine, you can make reservations.

I make ADRs on a regular basis and I am not even on vacation!

You can make ADR's 180 days in advance even without a hotel or package reservation. Since the beginning of the Dining Plan sit down restaurants have become very crowded. Folks who might not have eaten in a TS restaurant in the past, now are.
You need to make your ADR's for anywhere you want to eat ASAP.
It had been very difficult to get same day APR's at popular restaurants at normal eating times. It does depend a bit on the season, but I wouldn't count on it.

What's the 180+10 thing? I haven't heard of that. Is that for all of the Disney resorts? We're planning on staying at CBR in Dec.

Anyone can make an ADR 180 days in advance, but for those staying on property you can make all your ADRs starting 180 days before you arrive. This means if you are arriving on a Thursday, 180 days before that Thursday you can make all your ADRs for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, ... up to 10 days after your arrival. Keeps you from having to call back everyday for 10 days to make all your ADRs for your length of stay. Hope that helps! Have a great time! :goodvibes

Yes, I did get the Dining plan and that is why I was wondering about making them before our remaining balance was paid....
