ADR's without park schedule - HELP!

Ok, this one's for all you obsessive planners like me.

Last time we went to WDW (2006), the park schedules were released way in advance, and were available when I made my ADRs, so I could know exactly what park we'd be in or near and plan accordingly to save time and running around.

Now that park schedules don't seem to be released until much closer to the date, and ADR's are 90 days...when my ADR booking date comes up (Aug 31), I won't know the park schedule yet. Is there a way to predict it in advance by looking at the previous month's schedule (EMH times, closing times etc)?

To make it more complicated, the trip starts in Nov but ends in Dec, so there will be a big gap in getting the park schedule for each month. Still with me? LOL

What do the obsessive planners do if you can't plan ADR's with the park days? Add MVMCP and Candlelight Processional into the mix and I am getting a migraine.....

My thoughts are to just go for it and plan the ADRs and hope for the best...if there are some glitches apparent once the park hours are released...I'll have to try for cancellations or switch them around later.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated! Thanks! :goodvibes

hey,
don't panic...i know it is easy to! disney just "officially" posted november hours for magic kingdom and EPCOT on their website. also, check my previous post today~ ROBO put a link to the travel agent calendar (which was recently released and gave calendar along with dates for fireworks/fantasmic etc...)

good luck with your planning!!:flower3:

The 'obsessive' planner in me is worried too, lol! My ADR date is Nov 1st and our trip also spans 2 months. We go Jan 30-Feb 6th, so I was concerned how to book as well.

Mrsturtle....you are AWESOME!

I was checking and checking the Disney site, wondering why November was there but everything was blank.

Based on the TA release and the posting on the official website...when do you think we will see Dec hours....beginning of Sept? i'm just worried to book ADR's too far past my Aug 31 date. Now with Free dining released to the general public for the week we are there (Nov 29-Dec 5) - everything will fill up fast. Last year when I booked this trip, I never thought there would be a public code for free dining so late in the year.

aww thanks!!! i was (ok, still am) obsessively checking too! that's how i found it ;)

i guess beginning of september would be a good guess for december hours. good for you getting free dining!!

i was super excited to see the TA release. who knew i had become so goofy as to get this happy over something like this!!

i am still on the edge of my seat for DHS november dates. cannot wait til they're are out and i can finish my adrs!!!

good luck and have a great time:thumbsup2

Actually we didn't get free dining but a coveted 40% off room code that we made into a package. I thought that for once we wouldn't go for free dining (usually summer early fall) and wouldn't have to fight for ADR's...oh well! We're still going and that's what counts.

I am also super excited to see this TA release...if/when you get the Dec one, please post!! thanks again for your help! :worship:

Boy do I hope you're right. My ADR date is September 18 for my December trip. Beginning of September would give me some time to sit and think about where I want to be on which night of my vacation before racing to get my ADRs. You've given me hope. :lmao:

I'm an obssesive planner also and I just had this trouble with my Oct trip for my wife and I (or me and my wife? or my wife and me? well, all of us). I think I remember reading on allears.net that the schedule is released on the 5th of each month. So the Dec schedule should be out on Sep 5th, or very near, like the 6th. For my sister's Sep trip, allears.net had the schedule posted a few days before Disney did, so they must have some inside scoop. Be sure to check there too.

Without official info though, my best method is to use touringplans.com. They have a crowd size predictor calendar. I use that to chose which parks I go to which days, and then dining plans follow that. Extra magic hours and events like MNNSHP can throw it off, but its the best you can go on without official info. I figure having a less-than-perfect plan is better than none at Disney. So if I have to I make plans based on touringplans.com and then adjust as necessary/wanted after official info comes out.
