ADRs with baby

I made my ADRs a couple of weeks ago, but now I'm wondering if I should have made them counting our baby. DH and I are traveling with our two boys (ages 5 &2) and we'll also have our 3 month old. In addition my parents are coming along. I made all are ADRs for 6 people. Should I have made them for 7 even though the baby obviously won't be doing any eating? Thanks for the help.

You are supposed to tell them about the baby so that there is space made available. Many of the restaurants place the tables close together and there is no room for a stoller or an extra chair.

You are supposed to include the baby in your dining reservations so that there's space for a high chair (they have infant high chairs).

I would like to know that answer as well. I have to make my ADR's on Friday, our party is 6+ 2 infants (1 year olds) so I need to make a reservation for 8 right?
Also does anyone know if it is harder to get a reservation for that large of a party would it be better to split up our families? 4 and 4? It stinks because I don't think we qualify for the grand gatherings because the 2 boys are under 3, right?

I would definitely recommend including them in the reservation. AT 1, it would be much more comfortable for everyone if they are in high chairs ;-)

Yes- the baby should be included unless you plan on only holding the three month old. If you are planning on trying to bring in the stroller (some will allow) or need an infant high chair than you need to have them know they will need the space.

For the other poster who asked about the one year olds- absolutely need to let them know as I assume you will not be wanting to hold them but need highchair space. The ADR is not for how many will be eating, but how many they need to seat.

Infants must be counted as WDW is very strict on room capacities. It has nothing to do with high chairs, etc. It has to do with how many people are allowed in the dining rooms at any given time (legal maximum occupancies).

OP, you need to call back and change all of your ADR's or you will risk not being able to be seated if the restaurants are full because one extra person, even if it's an infant, will exceed the room occupancy laws and they will do not that.

You are correct. We had 7 + 1 infant last time and could not do the grand gathering stuff...but at the same time we were charged the automatic tip that was for parties of 8+ at the time...and all our adr's had to be for 8. It would have been nice to bo one of the GG events, but not allowed.

Thanks everyone. I had a hunch that I should have included him, but when I tried to add him to my room reservation they wouldn't do it because he hasn't been born yet. I guess that just made me think that I shouldn't count him in my ADRs, but then I started to second guess myself. I know it's ok to have the baby in the room since he'll be in a crib, but I guess I'll be calling back today to add him to our ADRs. Thanks again.

Our traveling party is 6 adults and my grandson who will be 14 months at the time of the trip. I included him for each ADR, and they set the reservation for "7" for each ADR. My grandson will be sitting in a high chair and will therefore be taking up about the same amount of space as one adult "chair". They need to include the infant, because even though he may not be eating from the menu, he will be taking up space and restaurants only have so much seating capacity at any given time.

Its my understanding that not only must the infant be added to the ADR, but in my case we are a party of 5 plus the infant making us a party of 6 and thereby incurring the automatic 18% gratuity for a party of 6 even though the infant won't be ordering anything. No big deal since we typically tip in excess of 18%, but thought it might be worth mentioning.
