So piggybacking on my other post, many people say to check back often for ADR's you can't get yet. My question though is, "What is the phone bill like when you do that?" I live in Canada, but I'm guessing it's still long-distance for most people in the US as well. I want the ADRs but I don't want to go broke getting them.

I use my cell phone since it is free long distance and we have unlimited minutes. I have not been on the phone with them for longer than 20 minutes and that was for 15 reservations

I have free long distance for my cell and my landline, but I bet that it would get expensive otherwise.

I also use my cell phone. Gotta love that free long distance and those unlimited minutes!!

You don´t want to know ;) Calling long distance from Iceland is NOT cheap.

Free for me too! We have free long distance on our landlines, and if I call at 6am my time (when dining opens) I have an hour of free cell time too. Our days are 7am - 6pm (central)

I haven't had to think about this (for many years we have unlimited long distance on our home and cell phones), but years ago we didn't but I actually never thought about it. As long as I was getting in to CRT I was happy!!!
But I image calling from out of the country them not having an 800 number muust be annoying to you.

It's seriously annoying they don't have a toll-free #. They make enough $$ they should be able to foot the bill for my call to make ADRs.

The CM I spoke with was very polite, but of course they have to run you through the standard disclaimers at first and get all your info, etc. so that adds time to the call and I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for her to finish all the stuff she has to ask and say and just itching to give her the dates and get off the phone.

Long distance is included with our normal phone bill, it's a flat fee each month but I don't know what it is. No extra charges, no matter how much we use it.

While I have a cell phone that I can use for long distance, for some reason I don't like using it when calling Disney. So, I bought a Long Distance Phone Card for this purpose. It was ten bucks for 360 minutes and it's perfect for my calls to Disney.

My calls are free on the landline and the cell but if not this is a very smart idea. :thumbsup2

i live in england and have never booked adr's before and i too was worried about phoning america when its peak time here 12pm. i am thinking of just getting a card that allows long distance so i don't feel rushed to hurry my call

We have free phone with our cable internet package so I don't worry about the charges.

I remember our bill was usually $10 more on the month I called WDTC. However we have had unlimited calling for so long I couldn't imagine the cost now a days. Specially from another country.

If you end up calling and paying be organized when you call. Have all your choices, dates and time preferences laid out. If you are reserving for CG (not sure about any other) that requires a credit card nbr be sure to have that out and ready. Anything that would make the call go smoother/faster, have at the ready. Have pen ready to write down your ADR numbers. Be ready with back up restaurants in case your first choices are unavailable. You probably will only have to call once for the ADRs so don't panic if it takes awhile.

Have you tried Skype? We use it to call the states for free from our laptop when we're in Europe, and it can be used anywhere. It's easier if you have a headset with microphone, but you can just use your computer's speakers as well.

Since I got Vonage (VOIP) I don't even look at area codes any longer. I think that Vonage works from Canada too.
