Hi,

Could you please tell me from what time the ADR window opens online? And for phoning them?

Are you better off phoning or reserving online for the popular restaurants now?

We want BoG and Cali Grill amongst others!

Thanks :)

It opens up at 6am EST online (11am UK time) and the phones open up at 7am EST (12pm UK time).

I logged into MDE a couple of days before, made sure my details were correct and I had a credit card detailed within my info (you'll need to give details of a credit card at the time of booking - it won't be charged unless you don't show up and don't cancel!).

Then, on the day, I logged in around 10:45am, about 15mins before the window opens, and opened up all the restaurants I wanted onto separate tabs on my browser. I just refreshed the page the second it turned 11am and booked in order of popularity (for me, it was BOG, Cinderella's Royal Table, Cali Grill and Yachtsman).

Any problems, call them at 12pm (if you dial the number about 10 seconds before it turns 12pm, you'll get through the menu options and will speak to someone really quickly!).

That's fantastic, thank you :)

Do you still need to add a CC if you're on the DDP?

We also want the Yachtsman - I didn't realise that was so popular too!

You do still need a CC when on the dining plan, I believe it's for all bookings, for all restaurants now. At least, that's what we were advised, and that's what we found when we came to book (we're on DDP too!). I think you could probably use a Debit Card if you don't have a CC.

I'm not sure if Yachtsman is massively popular or hard to get in the grand scheme of things, but we had some difficulty getting a table for a reasonable time (before 7:30pm) earlier in the week, and had to juggle around a bit with dates to get a time that was good for us.

Weirdly, the one we had most trouble with was Sci-Fi diner!

A CC is required for all restaurants regardless of payment type. You will be charged $10 per person if you do not cancel with the correct notice or are a no show.

We booked online. Honestly the one one thats difficult now really is BoG and even thats easier than this time last year.

We have never had trouble with YS - including booking on the day.

Don't forget the clocks go forward tonight/tomorrow morning so there will only be a 4 hour difference. Therefore, online reservations can be made at 10am here and phone reservations at 11am here.

Now I'm confused!!

Is this US clocks? Just had a mild heart attack thinking ours had to change but it's not until the 30th :)

We are headed to New York next week so does that mean we will only be four hours behind?

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, basically. NYC is currently four hours behind us!

The thing to remember with the USA, is that there are five time zones, not just one - because of the size of the country. But, both NYC and Orlando are on the east coast so both are in he Eastern Time Zone. Plus, I believe all (except Arizona? I'm sure I remember that bit from GCSE Geography!) states, like us, have a summer time and winter time (Daylight Savings), and like in the UK their clocks go forward or backwards as appropriate.
