Hi all. I just experienced my first dose of pixiedust pixiedust: for our upcoming trip, and wanted to share some encouragement with anyone who is in a similar situation. Dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern on our arrival date is something that we have come to look forward to. We like to eat at around 7:30 pm and still be able to take in the evening parade. Unfortunately, with the Free Dining in August, I was only able to get an ADR for 8:30, which would mean missing the parade. The original CM that I spoke to encouraged me to call back in case there were any cancellations. I figured I'd have a snowball's chance of this actually working, but I have been calling back for about 3 weeks now. Well, tonight I lucked out. Someone cancelled, and I got a 7:45 ADR. :cloud9: Now if only my luck will hold and I can get my Chef Mickey's dinner on 8/14 moved up! ;)

Yeah! Good for you, and keep trying for Chef Mickey's, you never know! :cheer2:

Yes, there are people like me who just cancelled a bunch of ressies in September. We had to change our trip to August, and since we are a large group, there should be a few things available between 9/14 and 9/19! Unfortunately, I couldn't get everything I wanted in August, so we are trying some places that weren't even on my radar. Two in particular: Maya Grill and Kona.

That's great!!! I too have been trying to get some ADRs. How persistent were you? I have only been trying once a week. I have most, but I really want to eat at Le Cellier.

That's cool! We did the same thing a few years ago and got into Cindy's castle for b'fast b/c someone cancelled.

I would try every day. I was trying to get LeCellier there was nothing for the 2 days I was trying for-lunch or dinner. I called back a few hours later and got a time for lunch. I called back at 5:00 and got a dinner. The system updates as soon as someone cancels (per the CM) so an opening could pop up anytime.

I've been trying once a day for about three weeks, usually in the evening. Now that I've had some success, I may kick things into high gear and try 2 or 3 times a day for Chef Mickey's. Only 29 days left, so I'd better get moving!!

Keep trying but not at dinner. Try lunch it is great too and with the dark area you can't tell if it is dark or light outside. We tried for three months last year for Le Cellier and didn't get anything. We go during the wine festival so you can't get times because of that. I walked into LeCellier on a Saturday and got lunch for the following day at 11:30am. Now on the phone I asked for lunch times too but every day it was sorry nothing. Keep trying and don't forget to just go by there when you arrive at Epcot. Dinners are sold out but at least you may get to lunch. The potato soup was so incredible. We are going again in October and got lunch again. We had a great lunch and the steaks are just as big and just as good at lunch. The crowds however were not. Don't forget to get the "moose" for dessert.

Thanks so much for the info. Now you've given me incentive to keep trying for a change in September. Dining at the Coral Reef, all I could get 5 months out was 4:50pm. I was hoping for later, so I've been calling back. This week, when I called, they were all booked up so they told me I'd better keep the time I had. But I'm gonna keep trying!

Don't give up on Le Cellier (or anywhere else for that matter)--sometimes, people just don't show up for their ressie. Or, if you were a really mean person (which I'm sure you're not), you could just take someone else's ressie when their name is called (yes, this happened to us at Le Cellier, and we ended up waiting for 45 minutes past our ADR. They did give us a fastpass to the ride of our choice as an apology, though).

That is one of the nerviest things I've ever heard! I can't believe anyone would do that, :rolleyes2 and particularly in a place where you guys were obviously not too far away! Did you hunt those rascals down? I'm generally nonconfrontational, but I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to let that go. In the spirit of 'what goes around comes around', I'm sitting here hoping that the waiter spilled a big pitcher of ice water in their laps!

OMG! Did you see these beasts jump up when your name was called? I don't make a scene often, but this would have called for serious action! And, if I had witnessed this being done to someone else, all heck would break loose!

Yes, we had the same problem with CRT in Sept/Oct...not one breakfast available. I was having them check all days and planned to change my whole trip around this one breakfast for dgd. I called every day or two, sometimes 2x a day and FINALLY a spot for 8:05 opened up on Oct 1. So keep trying!

We didn't see who did it. Our last name is Smith, and apparently, Le Cellier had 4 Smith's with ressies for all about the same time. I had checked a few times to see if they had called our name when I heard Smith, but was told it was a different Smith. When I checked after about 30 minutes or so, they told me they had called my name and had been looking for me; I was sitting on the bench by their entrance the whole time, so I'm not really sure what happened. They told me a few minutes later that someone else had taken our ressie. I'm not sure if they actually did or if that was just their way of covering themselves for their mistake of just skipping us b/c they had so many Smiths. The service and food made up for the wait, though, and then halfway through our meal, a CM found us at our table and gave us a FastPass for the ride of our choice (a great thing to have, since our last day, the park was packed! We used it to ride one ride and then we left--TOO MANY PEOPLE!!!). I would definitely eat at Le Cellier again b/c of the way they tried to remedy the situation. :thumbsup2
