Just wondering how crucial it is to make ADR's (when the time comes) for the time period we are going (May 14-21). Would we have a good "shot" if we just make 'em day-to-day after we get there or should we just make a few at ones we REALLY know we want and hope for the best on the rest? If so, do you think "hoping for the best on the rest" will work? TIA

Hi,

You should always makke ADRs for the places you havbe your heart set on eating. Thats way you won't be disappointed!

May 14, 2006 is Mother's Day so you'll definitely need ADRs that day for whatever restaurant you choose. Also, you will definitely need ADRs if you want to eat at the most popular restaurants such as CRT, Chef Mickey's, Sci-Fi, and Prime Time.

Enjoy!

I think very few people know about the 180 day rule change. I just booked all my March times and got everything I wanted. If you know where you want to eat, I would book asap. Espically helpful is having the park hours now!!!

I agree--at least book where you"really" want to go. Mother's day will be crowded everywhere, and May is a moderately busy month anyway. And if plans change (as they often do) you can always cancel. Nothing worse than walking up to a restaurant that you really want to eat in--and you're hungry--and you're told "no table available"
Bummer!

I would make ARs for that time period. We were at WDW last May (3-17) and many places were full and not taking walk - ups. We also called several times to try and get additional reservations (CP in MK and Chef Mickeys) while we were there and were told they had no availability.

Good luck! And have fun!

We are planning for May 21 for 5 nights and according to the new 180 day out call in we have to call the 3 rd week on November...It is hard to know everything you want to do this far in advance!!!

I guess I better sit down and get some sort of plan in order....

I was there the week before Memorial day last year and I was sure glad that I had some PS's made before we went.

Ohana was packed!!!

I've been the past few years in May the week before Memorial Day and last May did not make any ADR's and was not able to eat at Crystal Palace because of it :guilty: So I would definitely say make them ahead of time and if you need to try to move any times or days around you can do that as the trip gets closer :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm making my "list" out now! (Good Lord! it's overwhelming!)

We will be in there the week before Mem. Day too (May 20 -30). How will the crowds be? This is our first trip in May and am just wondering what to expect! I have been busy planning my ADRs too. I'm down to my last decision -1900 Park Fare or Norway. We have eaten at Norway and the goal was to eat at places we have never been, but that still leaves 9 new places!!

I was there the last week in May. We were glad we made all our ADR's in advance! I say make them. We saw people being turned away quite a few times. You can always cancel.
