Hello fellow Dis'ers!

Been many times but never over Christmas or New Year's.

This year we are arriving Dec 30th.

Part of our group plans to spend the day at MK, and they are hoping for the midnight fireworks if they can last that long. lol

Part of our group is going to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy being at MK but will be leaving to do dinner, then returning early in the am hoping to enjoy low first thing crowds, with everyone sleeping off the night before :)

To my point: we are thinking 1900 Park Fare. What are the chances of getting an ADR? Since people arriving 10 days before the 31st will have had opportunity to gobble up res for the 31st.

Thank you!

If you can grab it on the 190th day at 7:00 AM Eastern Time, you should have no problem getting whatever time you want! (edit: I made a mistake in reading the original post, I thought he said he was coming 10 days before NYE. The OP said he's coming one day before)

Generally speaking, because of the demand getting in the parks (especially MK) around that time, the restaurants outside shouldn't be as bad to get an ADR for. They'll still be difficult, but not as bad as you think.

Just a few things about New Year's Eve:

Pointer 1) It... will... be... packed! You can move, but there will be seas of people all over the place.

2) Wait times will get nuts. When Anna and Elsa were still in MK, wait times for them hit 4 hours! Space Mountain hit 3 hours in the afternoon. Even Stitch's Great Escape flirted with an hour!

3) The chances of some type of park closure due to attendance will be very high. If you're staying on property this *shouldn't* be a problem. I've never seen a level 4 total park closure, but there's always a first time for everything.

On the first, the crowds will actually ramp up slower than normal! People will still be pooped out from partying hard on NYE, so 1/1 will actually be a great time to get there at rope drop. That normal hour or two where lines are short will spread to 3 or maybe even 4 hours on New Year's Day.

I think you should be able to get an ADR for Park Fare, no problem.

Last year we booked a New Year's trip 3 months out. ADR pickings were slim at the time, but we always found various times available at Park Fare that week.

I don't think you can get it on the 190th day, just 180 plus ten more days. So you can book from 180 days out from the start of your trip including the 31st and eight more days. But lots of other people will be booking those nights if they arrive days before you.

That is my fear. Hopefully picking a restaurant OUT of the park will be better
We are hoping for a few fastpasses on the 31st, plus planning on just soaking in atmosphere, memory maker photos, shopping.
Hoping for Ohana breakfast MK then leave for GF for dinner. Hoping both are possible. :)

Good luck. Hope you get both of them.

Oh whoops! I misread his original post. I thought he said he was coming that far out. That's my mistake!

Ok, since you are looking to book 1900 at 181 days, that changes the equation immensely. I still stand that the restaurant being outside of a theme park on NYE will help. There's also the issue, though, of the entire resort still being packed.

You should still get it, but finding a great time will require patience.

Last year, not all the restaurants opened reservations at 180 for NYE. I remember trying to get Via Napoli and it was days later.
I think you'll be able to get 1900 Park Fare.
