ADR's for Candlelight Processional

We have never been during the Christmas holiday and will be there this year for it. We would like to attend the CP with a dining package. I think I will go with the Garden Grill.

I see the CP is at

5:00......would eat afterwards
6:45......don't know when to eat
8:15......would eat before

For the above, does anyone have experience on what times would be safe for ADR's?

I ate at 4:30p for the 6:45p show (I have little ones).

The show is about 40 minutes long and you need to allow for time to walk to/from the restaurant as well.

We are hoping to book the CP for 4ish at Le Cellier for 11/24, and then make the 6:45 show.

When you call to get your dining package, they will help you get a time that works.

We've done the CP with Garden Grille twice - once with 4:20 pm dinner/6:45 pm show and once with 6:40 pm dinner/8:15 pm show. The 6:40/8:15 BARELY gave us enough time. There's always those unexpected bathroom stops along the way!!! Given the choice, we loved the 8:15 show - just something about enjoying it while relaxing at the end of the day, as night falls.

We did this too. It is not really dark at 5:00 in Orlando (I guess it is further west than my home in NY - here it's pitch black by 5:00 in winter), so I think you might enjoy one of the later shows more.

When we went last year I was told they would only book the dinner at least two hours prior to or after the beginning of the show. For example, we went to the 6:45 show, they would only book my dinner ressie for 4:45 or before of for 8:45 or after. They did end up breaking their own rule a little and allowed me to book an 8:30 ADR for Chefs of France.

All that being said, we arrived at Chefs about 7:50 and they seated us within 10 mins. even though our ADR wasn't until 8:30. Your milage may vary - this is just one person's expirience

We always see the 5pm show (the sun is setting during the performance, which is really nice), and have ADRs for 6:30 or 7.

I am thinking of the 6:45 show so I can get out in time to stake out a spot for IllumiNations. Also, I don't know why but I just think the show will be better once it is dark out. Therefore we are going to try for Garden Grill or Teppanyaki (haven't decided yet) for around 4:30. However, when we line up for the show won't the 5:00 one still be going on and we will be able to hear it? How long does it last?

The show lasts around 45 minutes. You should line up for the 6:45pm show at about 6-6:15.

This may seem like a stupid question, but I've never been either. Is it like the Fantasmic dinner package were they give you a card to get into the special seating? For those that eat after, how do you show proof of the package if you haven't been to the restaurant yet to get your card? Do you pick one up before hand or do they send you one when you book the package? I never considered the details of it!

It's a little different from the Fantasmic Package.

When you check into your hotel (or you can get it at Epcot in Guest Relations), you'll get a CP badge to pin to your shirt. When it's time for the processional, you have to be wearing your "badge" in order to be let into the special line for dinner package guests. It's a separate line/entrance from everyone else, but you can sit wherever you want in the theater. The diference is that the line is let in earlier than those without the dinner package.

When you get to the restaurant, they will have your name in the system as a CP dinner package guest, so you don't need to worry about that.

I like doing the 6:45pm and have dinner at 8:15pm at the Rose & Crown. This way it's dark enough to really take in all the candles and lights of the CP, then having a relaxing dinner at the R&C and viewing Illuminations while enjoying a great dessert.

Just wondering the same thing myself....when can you make reservations for the CP package? I read on another post about what people were getting for the ADR's for December and someone said they got a CP package booked...can this be right? I thought i read you couldn't book them until sometime in August. Anyone know?
