I'm booking my ADRs for my party of 7 and 90% of them are saying that we might be seated at seperate tables. Anyone have experience with this, will they really be splitting us up? Is it because of the size of my family?

We travelled with a group of 11 and another time as a group of 8 and I think we only had separate tables on one occasion

This past August we travelled as a party of 8 and we were always seated all together. We were in restaurants twice a day for 8 day. When making reservations, no matter the party size, that message shows up including when reserving for a party of 1 LOL

It depends on the restaurant. I think they say that so that you won't be upset if they cannot sit you all together due to lack of available adjacent tables. However, I talked with someone at DDR yesterday and it also depends on the kind of seating available at the restaurant. Some restaurants have rounds, which make it impossible for them to push the tables together to make one large table for a big party. Most restaurants do have enough square or rectangular tables to allow them to do this, but that does impact your ability to sit together.

We are always told that we may be seated at different tables and it has happened a couple of times at places that do not have larger table like Sci Fi. . When we had 18 people we were at differnt table but they put them adjacent to each other. At 50's PT they made a game out of which server could work quicker.

We are a family of 7, and have never been seated at separate tables. When we go to Sci-Fi (every trip!) I tell them at check-in that we can fit in one car and they always are happy to seat us that way.

It is pretty much a standard warning now. The likelyhood of it happening is small. As a group of 8 we were only split up one time, and that was for breakfast in the Castle. Our tables were right across the aisle from each other so it was no big deal.
