Just curious if do we need reservations to eat at any restaurants buffet like Hollywood and vine chef mickey 1900 park and fare ect.. I've been calling them everyday and still its booked. Just curious if we could just walk in?

You can try walking up before the restaurant opens. They might have something available at opening. That worked for us at Boma last week, and I heard a CM at Spoodles tell a lady to do that when she was trying to make an ADR and they were all booked. It might work, it might not; all you can do is try. :hippie:

You can give it a try but I suggest that you keep trying to get your ADR booked especially if you are going during free dining. It would stink to waste valuable time in the world to go out of your way for a dinner that you can't eat.

ADR's are a must almost everywhere. our friends went last year and said they would just try "winging" it. only got 1 TS during the whole week. CS for everything else. They were upset since they were on the DDP. I hear of places booked solid for months in advance. especially character meals. The openings would be only available at the least popular restaurants and some of those are a real disappointment.

If you're finding everything you want to be already booked, I don't think I would try just 'walking up'...unless it's first thing in the morning for breakfast. For those really popular spots, like Chef Mickeys, you really do have to have an ADR. Keep trying, everyday, even when you arrive. People cancel all the time, so you may get lucky.

You could definitely walk up to a restaurant and ask if any tables are available, but don't expect it. :)

The three places you mentioned are character meals. Those go as fast as the traffic in Atlanta.

You can try walk up but if you have kids with you, prepare them to be disappointed. Not saying you absolutely, positively won't get in (maybe with a long wait) but it's quite possible they will not be accepting any walk ups.

I deffinately would'nt try for walk up. The ones mentioned are always busy to begin with and normally have a little bit of a wait even with a ADR.

Keep trying to get ADRs. Many WDW restaurants no longer take walk-ups, and will just turn you away if they're fully booked. That's especially true of the restaurants you mentioned, which are all character meals. Those get booked up at six months out.

While it's possible that you might get a table if you show up before they open, it's certainly not something you can count on.

Continue to call, even after you've arrived at WDW. People do cancel.

thanks a bunch. It just sucks that well sometimes u hope you get something and well you just don't get it. I am going to call everyday but yeah since now we have an extended family going the whole population is going to be like 12 now which is going to be harder for us to go. Oh well I guess they have to just miss out because.

I did get a table for five at 10 at 1900 though!

When we were there in April. We called for Hollywood and Vine character Breakfast last minute. They were completely booked..but they said try for walk up. We went and we were able to get in right at the end of the breakfast buffet. While we were there they starting making the transition over to the Lunch buffet.

I don't think I need to tell you the food wasn't the freshest...But we got in and my Daughter got to see the little einsteins.

It can be done..but I just wouldn't plan on it.

I've been noticing over the past few years, that if you want to eat any meal, at any TS restaurant in any of the parks, you really need an ADR. I've seen many walk-ups turned away because they had no ADR's and the restaurant was completely booked. When I'm asked to help plan a Disney vacation for someone new going, I always insist and then help them at the 180+10 day mark, to call and make their ADR's. Nothing ruins a vacation faster than no restaurant reservations and your dieing to try that particular TS restaurant.
