ADRs conflict with EMHs

Since we are planning so late, we are running into a problem with ADRs conflicting with EMHs. It seems that every ADR we can get is on the wrong day for the park. Or, we will be in a park in the morning when there are evening EMHs. How much do you guys follow EMHs and what are your experiences with not following them? Thanks so much

It really depends on your family, style, when you are travelling etc. If I am travelling during LOW crowd times I will sometimes utilize EMH, but if I am travelling during Peak times or Jersey week (as I am this year) then, NO WAY!!!

If you have park hoppers, morning EMH can be ok sometimes, as long as you are early risers and there at rope drop, do the "key things" you want to do in that park and GET OUT!!! But the key to morning EMH is getting to the bus stop super early too.

I can't post the link, but there is a crowd calendar that gives you details on which parks are the most crowded, and why to avoid them!!!! For the most part, I am following this advice this trip, except our "party nights" are expected to be crowded, but you have to take the good with the bad.

FWIW, by folllowing the recommended "crowd schedule" I was able to get all the ADR's I wanted or hoped to get @ only 45 days out. I couldn't get CRT(but got Askershus so that's ok) or Chef Mickey's(but got TuskerHouse):cheer2:

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. We have not used an EMH once in eight trips, we always avoid that park on that day. Did you have park plans before you made the ADRs, or did you take the ADRs you could get for the restaurants you wanted and then find out they were in EMH parks? I have always been able to plan far enough ahead to know what park we were going to be in before making ADRs, but I know that can't always happen.

If your family is set on certain restaurants, and the only days you can get them are EMH days, go with it, just be prepared; arrive before opening in the morning, etc. Will you have park hoppes? If you really didn't want to use EMH, I think you would have to decide if that particular restaurant is worth it. For me, it wouldn't be, and we would just chose another restaurant, but that's just what works for us.

Thanks to you both for your replies.

Dining is a huge part of our Disney experience, since it is just DH and me. We just booked our trip 2 months before the travel date, so some of our "must-dos" were only available at limited times during our trip. Unfortunately, this is not syncing with EMHs at all. In fact, the opposite is happeneing. For example, our CP breakfast is happening on a MK PM EMH day. DH seems to think that if we get there early enough and leave to hop to another park, it won't be a problem. We will probably sit down and try to rework some things, but I'm not stressed about it.

Thanks again.

We actually go out of our way to avoid the EMHs. It seems like those days tend to be more crowded in those parks and if you go agains the flow you can get just as much in with the regular hours at a park that is less crowded.
