If you finish your meal at an in-park restaurant before the park opens, do you have to go back to the park entrance, or can you walk around until the attractions open?

I believe you have a limited area to wander. Most of the park sections are roped off ie., Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, etc... have ropes blocking progress from Main Street until the official park opening.

You can't just walk around whereever you want, as they have most of the areas roped off. When we ate at Crystal Palace before the park opened, we were then allowed to line up by the rope drop at Frontierland before the rest of the people were let in. (We went over at about 8:45.) We could not go into it, though, until the park was officially open. At DHS, we ate at Hollywood and Vine and were done by 8:35 or 8:40. We were able to sit on the bench just outside the restaurant, and they let us move up to the rope about 10 min. later, only slightly before the rest of the crowd. Not sure how Animal Kingdom would work, because we didn't really get done at Tusker House until just before 9.
