Today was my ADR day and spent this morning stressing out my Fitbit making reservations for my family (2 adults, one child).

Ohana - easy then BOG, no issues. Moved onto Tusker House and Teppan Edo and again, easy.

Came to my last one - T-Rex for an evening meal and literally the only time that came up was 9.30pm! Tried evening, every half hour from 6pm and nothing. Is there any particular reason why it would be sooo busy?! (Sunday night near the start of October). Just thought it was weird that it was the only one I had diffculty with!

Try calling the restaurant directly. They are operated by a third party and not all their reservations are available for booking through the Disney system. If you call, you will likely have your choice of time.

Yes, this. I have made reservations for friends there twice when nothing showed up through Disney. Had many times to choose from.

Are they on Open Table?

No. The Landry’s restaurants in WDW are not on Open Table, but you can call them directly for reservations.

The restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin are on Open Table. I have heard that some Disney restaurants located at Disney Springs are on Open Table, but IDK which ones.

Ah, right...that explains it.

It’s our first night so would have been heading into Disney springs for about 7pm anyway so will give me a couple of hours looking round the shops lol!

Sign up for a Landry's Card. It costs $25 but they give it back to you as a credit towards your meal or merchandise. It's an awesome card because you get priority seating without a reservation. You literally walk in and they seat you.

What if every has that card, then who gets priority?

I’m on the Disney dining plan so would be using that but great idea for those who aren’t.

Just had a brainwave and changed booking I had for Raglan Road later in the trip. So now going there the first night with a lunch reservation for T-Rex a few days later. Works out much better as RR booking for 7pm and T-Rex 1pm.

That’s the ADR made so now the countdown to Fastpass booking....arghhhhhh!

Whoever was there before you. Having the Landry's card won't guarantee you will not have to wait, but it will guarantee you a seat. I don't think many of the Orlando visitors have the Landrys card. More common here in Houston for sure.

I've never had a problem using mine in Orlando or anywhere else and getting a seat, even with other people waiting to get seated. Just as the OP said, many people on the Dining Plan won't bother getting the card so I don't think that will be an issue. We were on the dining plan too but used cash for T-Rex and saved our dining credit for something else.

The Landry's Card also works at Rainforest Cafe and Yak and Yeti in AK -- I've used it successfully there as well.

I used it with the Disney Dining Plan in 2017 and had the Landry's card. I think I used it for my meal and an appetizer. Everyone else used the Disney Dining Plan. I used the card at T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe and Yak & Yeti. It was really convenient the first day because I didn't know when I would be arriving because we were driving. Have a great trip!

T-REX/Rainforest are some of toughest to get thru Disney but most times call directly gets you the time and date you want. have done this many times. we can not use Landry Card for ressies as our party has always been too large. last time we were 14 counting 2 infants. could not get any times or dates thru Disney Dining but when I call no problems with date and time we wanted in fact had a number to choose from and as I said that was for a party of 14. and yes we were on the dining plan which we used to pay for meal there even though I made ressie thru T-REX

You could always pay OOP for T-Rex and then that would give you an extra TS credit to use on a different TS meal. So it would let you add another TS meal, essentially. T-Rex is relatively inexpensive anyway so that coupled with the $25 credit and priority seating might make it a worthy OOP meal.

I called them directly once and was told they don't really recommend reservations. That was a couple of years ago though so maybe it changed. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes and honestly I wouldn't do it again.

That’s great advice. I just went on their website and will definitely be doing this. I couldn’t get a reservation and was going to try to walk in and get a table but this is a much better idea.

And you can use it at Yak and Yeti and Rainforest Cafe, too. We don't live near any Landry's restaurants, but we have used this card multiple times at Disney for restaurants. Totally worth it!

We went to T-Rex on a Sunday at about 1:00 in the afternoon and the wait was and hour and a half. I showed them my Landry's card and they put my name on the list. We were seated 5 minutes later.

How far in advance does one need to sign up for that card? And/or does the $25 credit have an expiration? We're looking to go the first week in August.
