ADR Unavailable for Small Party

I have been checking Disney dining at least once a day for an ADR I want. So far, I have had no luck finding one for my party size. Out of curiosity, I increased the party size to four and there is availability. I won't book that and then claim at arrival that the rest of my party won't be showing up; I appreciate that Disney wants to book at the highest capacity possible and I won't lie about my party size. My question is whether at some point Disney will make those ADRs available to a smaller party if a larger party doesn't book them. If so, at what point would they make them available? Thanks.

Book for 4 then call in to have 2 removed. That way you get the ADR and the other 2 seats are freed up for someone else.
