ADR Trading idea...

If someone has an ADR they know they are going to cancel, why not post it here first. If anyone want it, they could PM names & phone numbers to the original ADR holder...couldn't that person just have the ressie changed to the new person when they call DINE? That way we could keep all these great ressies "in the DIS family" so to speak. What do you guys think?

I think that's a Fantasmic idea. But I don't know about the CM's thinking that way. By the time you give your name rank & nserial # it's goooooooooone! lol
They will probab;y come up with some excuse as to why they can't don that.

I see that there are already some threads about this...instead of haviong to search a long thread for what you want, but people could start a new thread just for their ressie...ie. Le Cellier, party of 4, avail. for transfer on blah blah blah date...

I think if you are the one cancelling you could tell them that you just want to tranfer the ressie to a friend's name, give them the friend's phone number, and I don't see why they would have a problem with that. That way the ressie is never really cancelled, it's never back in the system to get snatched up.

Anyone know if CM's will do this? Could be interesting to find out if this would work...

I think that is a great idea. I am looking for an ADR for Ohana's Dinner on Friday Aug. 22. The only thing they have avail is 9:30 p.m. and that is way too late for my children. If anyone is thinking about cxl'ng theirs please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

The threads that have already been started are separated by month and are very efficient. It is much easier to put everything in one place than to have them in separate threads. On the monthly cancelled/trade threads, start at the end when reading through them, you don't have to go back too far as most of them get trade that are posted.

Good luck with getting what you are looking for and remember to keep calling, just in case. ADR's are getting cancelled all the time.

as the person who has the ADR rings disney and just changes the name and no. round.

Any ADRs up for grabs should be posted in the threads already running specific to that month...if a bunch of separate threads are started for individual ADRs the moderators would probably merge them into the other threads anyway.

It seemed to me that posting them seperatly would be more efficient, but you guys seem to have a system that already works. I just saw a post this morning about someone who had just cencelled something and was telling us to call right away...I thought to myself that way was no good because by the time we read the post the ressie would certainly be gone.


Right now I have nothing to trade...good luck everyone getting those ressies!

You can definitely switch to someone else. I know because I did it for someone here! I had a lunch adr at Le Cellier and I just called the dining line and had them change it to her name and phone number. I had no problem doing this.

I know, I hate it when people post and dangle a carrot like "Quick call -- I just cancelled Le Cellier"...chances are good that someone else had it before that person even ended their call! I'm sure people mean well and it's still wonderful that they are cancelling ahead of time instead of just leaving an ADR intact they will never use, but it really defeats the purpose unless it is offered before it is cancelled.

I have called and changed the name on two separate ADRs for fellow DISers. I explained that I could not attend but a friend could and wanted to change the name on the ADR. They changed the name and phone number without touching the ADR. The confirmation number did not change.
