I would like to make adr's for my late August, early September trip. I understand the I have to wait 180 days, but is that to the exact day of when I want to make the reservation?

If you are staying at a WDW resort, you may book for the first 10 days of your stay on the first day that your trip is 180 days away.

Click the above link for the OFFICIAL WDW Calendar.
Then:

1. Pick your Park.
2. Pick your Month.
3. CLICK ON the DATE on which you want the info.

Disney publishes dates and times approximately 6 months in advance, on or about first of the month.
Expect EMH hours to be posted within a few days following the hours' posting.
Make sure to check back often, as times and events are subject to change as the actual dates get nearer.

Aug. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about Feb. 1, 2008.
Sept 2008 Hours should be posted on or about Mar. 1, 2008.
Oct. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about Apr. 1, 2008.
Nov. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about May 1, 2008.
Dec. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about June 1, 2008.
Jan. 2009 Hours should be posted on or about July 1, 2008.

If you are staying onsite (one of the Disney resorts), you can make ADRs starting 180 days from your check in date, for up to 10 days after.

Example
[ You chack in on 8/6- 180 days from now. Your vacation is 7 days long, anding on 8/12. You can make ADRs for your entire vacation today, even though most of your vacation is more than 180 days away.

If you are staying elsewhere (off Disney property), you must call each day to make ADRs.

I don't know when your trip is Purple Nightshade- but I'm going around the same time,,,August 30-Sept.6 and it stinks that they only release the park schedules one month at a time! I'm going to have to wait an entire month to find out the complete Sept. schedule before I can start making my ADRS! Good luck with yours!

I don't understand this. If I'm staying on-site from 9/21 - 9/27, when can I make my dining reservations? 3/15 or 3/25?

3/25 is the 180 day mark for 9/21. If you are staying onsite, you can call on 3/25 and make all of your ADRs for your entire vacation. If you are NOT staying onsite, you can only make ADRs for 9/21 on 3/25. You will need to call each morning for each next days ADRs (call on 3/26 for 9/22, 3/27 for 9/23, etc). The 180 days is from the FIRST day of your vacation- you can then make ADRs for up to the 10 days following that, if you are an onsite guest.
