ADR System Upgrade - History

I called yesterday to book Chef Mickey's for May. On the recording it said you can't book 180 days out except for Chef Mickey's, V&A and Cinderella's...

So the CM comes on and I tell her I want to book Chef Mickey's. She tells me I can't book that. Then I tell her well I just heard on the recording... So she says she'll try while mumbling to me several times she won't be able to book it. Then surprise! She starts booking my ADR.

Wow.............

I spoke to cm today that said basically the same thing, that they are probably going to move the final opening back further, but he thought they may be opening up another month in the next week or so. He said last time they told them on a Tues that they would open up a month on that Sat. So check back a few times next week they may be able to tell us more then.
I have a couple days of my March trip booked, waiting to book the rest of the week.

Have a question about booking before May hours are out - IF we can book on Monday. How do they handle the Fantasmic Package with that?? Will they not book it at all? Right now, I have Mama Melrose Fantasmic pkg. down for Sunday, May 3rd. Going on the last two weeks of the April calendar, it looks like Fantasmic is on Sunday, Wed, Th, so I went by that. I don't mind calling back for that if I have too, but I'm worried if there is NO Fantasmic on that date - then some of my other ADR's will have to change! (Oh, and I'm not tied to doing the MM pkg, but if Fantasmic isn't on a night we'll be able to make it, we'll switch HS to a morning - we're only doing a half day- and eat dinner in a different, better park. The HS TS choices don't wow me, but we've never seen Fantasmic, so...)

I think you should keep HS for the second half of the day, with or without the package Fantasmic is awesome. :thumbsup2

I'm looking through some posts and seeing references to 12/21, but I have found no explanations so far. Does this have to do with a booking window for ADRs? We have an arrival date of June 1, and so our 180-out booking date would be this coming Monday, December 1.

I am planning to make all our ADRs that day. Will I be able to?

Thanks, Tromba

I would recommend not doing the package anyway. The seats that they save for the packages are way over on the far right of the theater. You'd be better off getting in a bit earlier finding a seat and waiting.

Mama Melrose's is great food too!

It's been my experience that in the warmer months, they have Fantasmic everynight.

have to disagree (doesn't someone always disagree:laughing: )

Anyway, we loved Mama Melrose & the Fantasmic Package seats. Yes, they are over to the side, but we've sat in that area twice now, and previously in the general seating in a couple different areas. You have a good view no matter where you sit. And the reserved seating is wonderfully convenient. "A Bit earlier" is fine if you're going during a very slow week. However, since they've cut down on the # of showings, I wonder if there will be ANY "slow" times for Fantasmic showings now? During busier times, if you're not there an hour or more before the showing you'll be in the standing room only section...then you better be tall or you're not seeing anything. Just my 2 cents...

I am so glad that I read the previous post. I just realized by looking at the schedule that not only does Fantasmic not run everynight, but it isn't scheduled on the night we planned on going to MGM. Thank you PP for putting that bug in my ear....

Back to the planning board I guess (and all before Monday at 7am)

on your 180 days out you will only be able to book, chef mickey's, CRT and Victoria and Alberts-Disney is updating their reservation system and we are having to wait to make the rest of our ressies until their system is up which was once said to be on 12/21--now it looks like it may not be up until Jan. (check out the sticky at the beggining of this thread) but I would call on your 180 days out and see what the CM tells you...good luck:goodvibes

Thanks for the above advice. We REALLY do want to see Fantasmic, however depending on the days it is offered, it might just not work out. Thursday night, for example, is our last night there and we'll be doing dinner at LeCellier (assuming we can get it) and doing Epcot for the evening. I'm really hoping Fantasmic is on Sunday or even Monday would be OK - it's just hard to know when to book our OTHER ressies without knowing when Fantasmic is, does that make sense? Right now I have Ohana scheduled for Monday, that could be switched to Sunday, but I need to know if I should do that!!! LOL! Wednesday night would be the only other real possibility, though that's not ideal in my plan. Aargh!

Does anyone know how they handle Fantasmic Packages before hours are released? Can they be booked at all?

It's possible that they'll know when Fantasmic is when they are booking. For instance, you may ask to book the Fantasmic package on Wednesday and the CM would be unable to do that because there isn't a Fantasmic show. This is pure speculation though. I've never booked a package.

Called begining of Nov (180 days out) and was told to call back in December when they have their system working again. Does anyone know if its working yet? Thanks and have a yummy Thanksgiving!

Called today for my CRT ressie, still nothing out for past March 22nd. :confused3

I just called. I figured I wouldn't be able to make our ADR's (April 26-May 3) but just wanted to check....anyway the CM said December 21 :scared1:

I am still going to try on Dec. 1, but I wont be surprised if they say not yet...
