ADR System Upgrade - History

Thanks Tricia, I do understand your explanation and that makes sense. I think unfortunately the fact that they said "can now be booked" is what is really throwing people. Below is the exact quote from the newsletter. (I bolded the now, they didn't.)


Advanced Dining Reservations Update: As of October 26, 2008, the booking window for Disney's dining reservations was extended to include dates up to March 22, 2009, excluding Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Victoria & Albert's, which can now be booked up to June 19, 2009.


They (allears) didn't seem to get my point when I inquired. Hope this doesn't add to the confusion, since it doesn't appear that they are going to make any adjustments to how they worded their information.

Ok, please clarify for me. I want to make ADR's May 31, June1, June 2. So if the new system is up and ready on Dec. 22, can I call then to make the ADR's? Or is it 180 days from the first checkin date Dec. 22 and there after? Trying to figure out when I can call. Thanks.

You will make your reservations for Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table or Victoria & Albert's 180 days - like you would if there was nothing going on with the ADR system.

You will make reservations for anywhere else once the new system is up and running. As of right now they are saying that will be on or about December 22.

Lisa, I agree that their wording is definitely confusing. I'm not even sure that my explanation is correct

I think it goes without saying that we all will be happy once this new system is up and running, so everything can go back to normal.

Well we'll all be happy once it's been up for a few weeks. I have a hunch there will be many who are on hold for a very long time for the first week or so.

It's so helpful to hear the latest--have been so confused. I was able to get our ressies for CRT and CM--but still want to book Ohanas for dinner one night. We're going Apr 21-28--how hard is it usually to get a dinner ressie at Ohanas?

I think being "in the loop" with this thread helped me get the exact ADR at Chef Mickey's I wanted. I called right at 7am today and wanted as close to 5pm on April 27th as I could get so I was thrilled to get 5:00 on the nose! I think people are so confused as to when to call that I beat them all to the punch! Thanks Disney Dine & Tricia!

Let's hope the rest of my ADRs are this easy in December or whenever...

I called about a week ago, and was told that I wouldn't be able to make reservations until after November 21. Not sure, but just wanted to confirm a date if you know, as I want to try and get reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table.

I will be down from the 18th through the 25th of April and no, we cannot make our ressies yet, except for CRT, CM, and V&A. Unfortunatly, even though our 180 day window has already passed, we have to wait. The newest date for making reservations past 3/22 is December 22. I am hoping they open up the April window sooner, like they recently did with the March ressies, but who knows.

Thanks, Michael's Mom! Since we will be down during one of the busiest times of the year, I was hoping to make reservations. Guess I'll just keep watching this thread, and see what happens.

You can go ahead and make your Cinderella's Royal Table ressie now. If you have a Chef Mickey or Victoria & Alberts, that can also be made now. All others would have to wait until December.

Bill I would absolutly call back because I booked all of my ressies for March 15 thru 22. Not sure why your CM didnt take your ressies but try again so you dont miss out.

I will be in Disney from April21-May1/09. I called today to see if I could make dining reservations. The rep I talked to said I could not do this until December 10 but he did not sound too sure. He told me to call next month just in case it changes.

I was under the impression the updates to the dining reservation system would be completed in October.

Is anyone else having difficulties making dining reservations?

Is any one else going to be in Disney the month of April that could give me some guidance in this matter?

There have been a couple of delays in the sytem upgrade. The original date for completion was 10/24. It was pushed back to 11/21, and it was once again pushed back to December this past weekend. The CM was correct when telling you this. You are still able to make your CM, CRT, and V&A ressies at the 180 day mark.

Awww just read the updates! i thought theyd be delays but was hoping there wouldnt be........we're going 14th May so the 180 window for us would of been next week we want to make a couple of chef mickey ADRs so thatll be ok, the one im really concerned with is making the ADR for Citricos for our wedding anniversary...will keep checking back for updates.

My family and I are going to DW in April 2009. I have only been to DW twice before. I am a little nervous about having to wait until December sometime to make my ADR's. We have the regular dining plan. Am I the only one, or does anybody else think that the phone lines are going to be a bit tied up with all this waiting and possibly not getting some of your ADR's for your trip? This is the first time with the dining plan and I am hoping that my daughter and nephew will get to go to the places that were originally planned on.

The main reason I got a travel agent is so that I won't have to make my own ADRs.
