ADR System Upgrade - History

Boy, wouldn't that be GREAT!!!!! I know it is only speculation, but it doesn't take much to get me excited these days! I was discussing this very thing with my DH this morning. So glad we all have this thread to come to and hang with other ADR junkies

I made my ADRs that I could yesterday:

CRT Breakfast May 18
CRT Dinner May 23
CM Breakfast May 20

The lady said to call back every week to get an update on when I can make the rest of the ADRs. I think I have a better chance just finding it out here lol.

Yeah we made one ressie at Chef Mickeys as well. That's it so far. We are just waiting to book everything else. I will be calling every week as this is the 1st WDW vacation that I actually want to make more than one ADR and with it being my 12 yr anniversary, I definitely do not want to miss out.

I just talked to Disney Dining and she said that she heard they were going back to normal 180 ADR system tomorrow. Anyone else heard this????

um, nope...haven't heard that. I think the last I read was December 22(?). I am sure there will be an announcement before it happens. (Unless they want to quietly open it up so they don't get bombarded right off the bat.)

If they just open it and don't tell people I'm going to be so upset!! I'll be at work tomorrow morning and my job blocks any discussion board sites, including the DIS, so I won't even know until I get home!

The CM's aren't going to be trained on the new system until early to mid December, so December 22 is about the earliest launch date that we're hoping for.

The most current system information (provided to us by a very reliable and 100% accurate Dining CM - DisneyDine) is in the first post on this thread.

Regardless, I hope that someone calls and lets us all know. When I have called (probably 3 times now) I have been instructed each time to keep calling back weekly as it could open up anytime.

Maybe WDW dining has thought of what others have thought of, that once it opens up, say 12/22, they are going to be bombarded w/ calls for ADR's. This might result in some pretty huge issues.

I just called and was told that on 12/22/08 they anticipate being able to book past 3/22/09. Of course my trip starts 3/23/09.

I just called and got my CM ressie for 5/29, and the CM said they're still saying 12/22 but that I should call back periodically to check.

thanks for calling...I was planning on calling this morning, but I am not feeling too hot and I just woke up ....We'll have to keep calling in hopes that they open it up early.

The CM's aren't going to be trained on the new system for a few weeks yet. The launch will be sometime after their training.

DisneyDine has been great letting us know what's up for CM's and I am sure she'll report back once the CM's have been trained on the new system. She'll probably also have a launch date for us, but we'll still be free to hound CM's to see if they open up early.

I know...she has been great. In the past, when they have opened up just another month, did they announce it or was it just one day the computers allowed them to make the ressie?

I started leaving the previous updates up there, but she always tells us in advance. Looks like she told us on 10/20 about the 10/26 change.

(Personally I fully expect another window opening up in the next week or so, but time will tell)
