ADR System Now Allowing Multiple Bookings for Same Time?

Not sure if this is a bug on my MDE account... but for the past week or so, I have been able to double-book ADRs.

Example: An ADR opened for Narcoossee's at 6PM, but I already had a 6PM for Kona Cafe. I was able to book Narcoossee's, but it never prompted me to cancel Kona, and both show as valid ADRs.

Is this something new? Of course, I immediately cancel my old ADRs anyways... but it used to force me to cancel them out.

I've been able to do that too - in the past it would ask me to choose one or the other if the times were similar, but now I seem to be able to double/triple/quadruple book without issue.

Wow, I wonder whether this will continue - and whether it will allow booking the same restaurant at the same time, facilitating split party bookings (e.g., party of 8 booking 2 tables of 4+4).

It does. When I booked a later ADR for dinner, the earlier ADR stayed put. They were less than an hour apart.

Me too, I accidently booked the same restaurant 15 minutes apart when my ADR window opened and I was in complete frenzy!

Same here. Once by mistake and the other as a backup for the R&C fireworks package that wasn't available yet. I posted in the August ADR cancellation post right after but nobody seems to want it so I will release it without more waiting

I've had this happen once in a while over the past 10 years or so. Think it is a known glitch and probably not new. But if it works for you and you release the unwanted ADR in a timely fashion, then its gravy.

I accidentally did that with a Beaches and Cream reservation. Was expecting to get a notice, but didn't.

Oh boy! I really hope people are double booking now. I am having such a hard time finding any restaurant reservations for my trip in September for only 2 people. Even going on 60 days out at 6:00 am! I know I am looking for tough restaurants but I could get one of 4 I was looking for.

Keep looking, especially as you get closer. Last week DH and I got a 7PM ADR for Sci-Fi 3 days before. Needing to book for only 2 people gives you a good chance of getting what you want - eventually.

We are a party of 2 going in September, also, and I was shocked at how tough it was to do ADR's this morning. Got pretty much all we wanted, but times were disappearing all over the place. Hoping some things open up as we get closer, as the times we ended up with aren't ideal for our plans.

I am so glad you said that....I was feeling like I was doing something wrong. I always do they same thing on the morning of ADR day, but this year was discouraging. We're only 2 and usually do so much better.

Honestly, I got two reservations we wanted at the right times and it was through Opentable. My first night I found nothing and my last night I messed up, I choose my departure day instead of my last night. So obviously I don't have anything for that night

was not what I expected this morning after so many people lately saying they got everything they wanted, eventually I got all semi close to the times I hoped for except topolinos (which I expected not to get) but it took me probably an hour keeping going back and looking!

the only time the system asked me if I wanted to replace one reservation with another was for one that another party member had added me to, and once I removed myself it let me make with within 5 minutes of the original. (we are a group of 10 and I'm doing most of the booking so its helpful to be able to book 2 tables close to the same time!). hopefully the stick because except for my being the lead on them all, the other guests are different. maybe I should change the lead to someone else so they don't get cancelled?

Wow have a great trip. I did the same thing once with a large group, we made two reservations close together. All the restaurants put us together or very very close, except for Be Our Guest. I was not the lead on both reservations but I made all the reservations with my girl friends account.

This happened to me too. , I’ve always had the best of luck looking for last minute reservations, or the day before, so don’t lose hope.

I hope it’s still happening in a few days. Have 12 going on my trip and was told to book 6 & 6. Hope it works

During our last trip in June, we noticed a few SciFi reservations pop-up a day or two before.

All were later in the evening (after 7:00 PM).
