Adr Saga Continues...

OK, so I was a bit crazy when I put off making ADR's right away. I made a few, but felt I needed to "get a feel" for what we were going to do...silly me!!!!

Before I give my ADR's, I want to point out that I am a BREAKFAST PERSON...yes, I LIKE breakfast!!! I would put up with wherever for dinner...but breakfast is MY time!!! I cannot seem to help myself, it is just how I am.

It just seems that I CANNOT get CRT for breakfast. I keep trying and trying and have been calling every single day but the World will not cooperate (yet!!!). I have also "settled" and met the CM "halfway" because I did set my Hoop De Doo Review ADR for Cat#1 at the 9:30 show. DD6 may fall asleep during the show and her head might fall into her dessert... BUT...we are there and in Cat#1. Does it matter terribly??? I don't KNOW!!!!

Nuff said, here are the ADR's causing me so much angst...

8/28 - Arrival Day
6:40pm - Sci Fi Restaurant...not sure if keeping because haven't chosen flights yet!!!

2:30pm - Fairytale Lunch at CRT...I don't like the lunch menu and I wanted the bananas at breakfast
6:35pm - Princess Storybook Akershus

8/30
8:10am - Ohana Breakfast
6:00pm - Coral Reef Dinner

8/31
8:35am - Donald's Safari Breakfast
2:30pm - Yak & Yeti
9:30pm - Hoop De Doo Review

I know, I know...I need to count my blessings take my ADR's and breathe...but CRT REALLY bothers me. I think I have gotten over HDDR (for now!! )...it is really JUST CRT.

I actually like lunch at CRT better than breakfast. I think the breakfast skillets no matter where they be are just plain old breakfast. I found the lunch delicious . You do seem to have an awful lot of princess action going on the same day. You might want to spread that out a bit-just a suggestion. Because this means you will be in MK and then need to get over to EPCOT in a short time period.

We did have Park Hoppers but its not as easy as it sounds with little kids.

My only observation -- coz we are so NOT breakfast people ,is the time. If you have lunch at CRT at 2:30, you will probably be done around 3:30-3:45. You'll need to check in at Akershus about 10-15 mins early, so 6:20. That's only about 2 1/2 hours or so between pretty good sized meals. JMHO!

I agree and actually if they are running behind you might not be finished with CRT until even 430 than you would have to leave by at least 545 to travel to epcot for the next meal. Those seem really too close together.

We did the 9:30pm HDDR showing last year (kiddos ages 7,3,4) and vowed to never do it again. It is a lengthy show and by the time it was over and we caught a bus back to the resort it was soooo late. We didn't get back into our room until after midnight and we had a breakfast ADR the next morning for 8:25am! It was just too late for us. This is just my honest opinion though. Just keep in mind that you will be in the show for a while and at the end you still have that bus ride back. I never knew how far out Ft. Wilderness was! LOL!

Did you take the 9:30 HDDR to get Cat 1? If so, my kids sat in Cat. 1 in March and it was too close for them! They were a little freaked out. We sat in the back for biergarten a few months prior and they liked that better. Personally, I think 9:30pm is too late....

I don't think I would do 2 princess meals back to back, esp. that close in time.

I would call again. DH called this morning at 10am west coast and got CRT for 10:10am. I believe he was also offerred an 8:05am time, he declined since dd has bibbidi bobbidi boutique set for 8:10am. We're a party of 4, so i don't know if that makes a difference.


Ooops. I forgot to write what day. He boooked CRT breakfast for Aug 31st

If your a big breakfast person than you made the right choice for breakfast at Crystal Palace! Especially the time you got! Good job!

If I may add two places you might not want to miss for breakfast is.....1900 Park Fare, and Cape May. 1900 Park Fare and CP are my favs so far, but I hear you don't want to miss Cape May either. I would suggest your ADR's for 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian resort to be at 11:00 a.m., you'll get there in time for everyone to start clearing out and you'll almost have the place to yourself and get lots of time with the characters, the food is still very good and you'll love the relaxed atmosphere. We did and will do it this way from now on.

Thank you all so VERY much for helping me out!!! I decided last night that I will change the HDDR ADR from the 9:30 show to the 7:15 w/Catagory 3. I mentioned it to my DD6 and she seemed ok with being in the balcony. She also "freaks out" easy and I think a pp had it correct that Catagory 1 may be TOO CLOSE and the lateness of the hour had me concerned. This means I need to try to get an earlier lunch at Yak & Yeti...it looks so DELICIOUS I want to keep that ADR!!!

I might keep trying to get CRT for breakfast. I know others on the board have gotten it, but I think it has to do with our party size (3 people). Because a CM mentioned "I could offer you breakfast at...wait, not that is not for 3..." I am going to try calling at 7:00am tomorrow!!!!

I was thinking of doing an ADR for 1900 just in case I can't get CRT. I totally agree, it IS too close together in time...I didn't realize that (probably because I didn't want lunch in the first place)!!!!

While we do Love our Princesses, DD6 kind of wanted to "branch out" is the feeling I get from her... it seems that as she gets older she likes to experience more and different things. She is really such a SWEETIE!!!

We have the same plans as yours for the 31st. However ours are for the 21st of Sept. I also went w/ the 9:30 showing of the HDDR. It's our DD(7) favorite.

As for the CRT keep trying. You never know what you'll get. I took me 2 weeks of calling to get ours. It's sad to say that the only thing you can do is keep trying. I would just call if I had a spare minute through out the day just to check. Grab the phone while your making dinner or folding laundry. Good Luck!

I have to throw in 1900 Park Fare for dinner. We were there the first week of December. The food was really yummy and the character interaction was first rate! Probably the best character interaction out of all our character meals (Chef Mickey's was good too, Akershus was decent, Hollywood and Vine was okay and Crystal Palace wasn't good at all).

Prince Charming came by our table first. He greeted everyone but knelt down next to dd (she was wearing her Cinderella dress) and made a big fuss over her. When he went to sign her autograph book he asked if "his love" Cinderella had signed it yet. When dd said no, PC asked if he could save a page for her and sign the NEXT page...because Cinderella comes first in his life w/ all things.

Cindy came by next and smooched ds (2yo) on the cheek and then showered dd w/ attention. I thought the poor child was going to burst!

Lady Tremaine and her dds were really fun. LT asked my BIL if he was wealthy and available and complemented dd on her jewelery...then one of the sisters (can't remember which) GUSHED over dd's dress and then whispered (really loudly) in her ear...."Ya know... I always thought Cindy shoulda been a brunette!" We were all DYING!

At one point one of the waitstaff dropped some dishes that broke....and one of the Tremaines screamed across the restaurant CINDERELLA...in that way they do in the movie. Another time one of the sisters sang Happy Birthday to someone...and her voice is SO lovely!

I highly recommend it. It really was a very fun experience for all of us, kids and adults alike.

MinnieMouse...it sounds like you all had such a wonderful time!!!!

We actually ate dinner at 1900 Park Fare 2 years ago for DD's birthday...Prince Charming actually kissed her on the cheek...TWICE!!! She was so embarassed and we have a picture of Prince Charming standing behind her holding his hands in the air and her sitting at the table with her face buried in her hands!!!! We have it framed and hanging on the wall...DD6 loves remembering Prince Charming !!!

I did give up on CRT Breakfast simply because I changed my ADR's around and did CRT for dinner. At least we...I mean DD6 can meet and greet with Cinderella and I might order a chocolate slipper for her dessert (just to make it special)...not that eating in a CASTLE isn't special!!!!

I changed our ADR for 8/29 so that we can make Rope Drop at the MK...never saw it, but really want to.

Feel free to poke holes in my ADR schedule...

Since this is such a short trip and we cannot POSSIBLY get EVERYTHING in , I have made adjustments and ADR's as follow:

8/28 - Arrival Day
6:40pm - Sci Fi Restaurant...I will wait until I finalize Flights.

8/29
7:30am - OHana Breakfast
9:00am - Rope Drop at MK (no ADR needed )
6:50pm - Cinderella Royal Table (to ensure we at least meet Cinderella once!!!)

8/30
8:40am - Princess Storybook Breakfast (DD6 wants ALL the Princesses!)
1:00pm - Sci Fi Diner (in case we don't make it on 28th)
6:00pm - Coral Reef Dinner w/Diver & Personalized Menu for DD6

8:35am - Donald's Safari Breakfast
1:00pm - Yak & Yeti
7:15pm - Hoop De Doo Review Catagory 3

Quick note...I am thinking of "adjusting" my ADR's again!!! Am I the WORST waffler ever??!?!?!?!?!?

I am thinking of adding lunch to the 29th and 30th. I know I "penciled in" Sci Fi, but I am thinking of doing PSB for lunch on the 30th and 1900 PF for Breakfast.

I am in a quandry over where to schedule lunch on the 29th as I want to do BBB with DD6 before dinner too!!!! WHEW...so much to do, so little time!!!

I am just worried that the CS places will be PACKED!!! Any input on this during Free Dining?

I was looking at your schedule again, and I was wondering if you realize how crazy your day will be with three TS meals in a day. I remember thinking what a pain it was for us to be doing two in a day at both ends of the day (meaning begining of the day and towards the end of the day). I don't know if you've done this many ADR's before so I wanted to mention that maybe looking at your schedule and see if your really wanting to split up your day in the parks that much to meet all your ADR's for the day. Reading on here, I've seen people complain that they ended up feeling like they were at WDW to meet the ADR's than to really enjoy the park when they had more than one ADR a day. Just something to think about. I think if you go to CS during the off hours to eat it won't be so crowded. Columbia Harbor House (MK, near the Haunted Mansion) is a great place to find before the crowds hit, go up stairs and find a table that's quiet amd maybe over looking Fantasy Land or Frontier Land. You'll love it. We loved it when the crowds were starting to get there, so I know you'll love it.

Your not a waffler! LOL I think I changed my almost on a daily basis for a while, that was until I was satisfied that what I had would work best and also because it got harder and harder to try and get ADR's as time went on, so changing them were out of the question. LOL
Just be careful that your not planning yourself out of the parks, well that is unless you want to be planned out of the parks. Since this is where your spending your money you don't want all your time at ADR's and other scheduled events the whole day, I'm speaking to the 29th and days your planning three TS, you know what works best for your family, I just wanted to caution you incase you've not done things this scheduled before. My DH was not to happy to leave the parks for scheduled ADR's more than once a day and on the day we did BBB he felt it was a total waste of a day in the parks. I had to agree, but I hadn't been before so I wanted to fit in the things that I didn't think we would be back to do again. Now I'm planning a vacation to go back so I'm not so worried about fitting it all in this time. Thank the Lord!

I think your going to be very glad you changed the time on HDDR. We have sat all cats and prefer the 2's, and most the 3's are upstairs and you still get a very good view. You will love Ohana breakfast....very good food, service and characters. Coral Reef is another wonderful resturant...my dd's love it. We're breakfast people also and I think you have some wonderful choices there.
