Does anyone reconfirm their dining reservations prior to your arrival at WDW? Is this necessary?

Mimmiepnp :)

Hi Neighbor,

This question gets asked often, and yes, there are many people who do confirm their ADRs.

We never do..as you can see we have made many trips, and we always make one or two ADRs for each day of each trip. We have never had a problem. But there are others who post here who have had problems.

It is definitely not necessary, but it's your choice...

Enjoy your trip!

Edited to add: I just found a poll one page back:

Right now no is leading yes!

We too have been many times and no we do not confirm our ADR's I bring our confirmation numbers with me and I have never had a problem.
Each time you have a CM "touch" your ADR's in the computer, is an opportunity for a mistake to happen. I rather not reopen them

No. But I do bring all my documentation showing I've paid in full for my reservation. I'm not even going to mess with online check-in since I'm afraid it may cancel my reservation all together. I leave "new and improved" things alone until all the kinks have been worked out. I've had a stressful semester and I NEED this trip.

i do not confirm but i bring my confirmation numbers with me and always get another print out at the desk when we check in.

I did, only to make sure all of our dietary restrictions were noted :thumbsup2

I do. In fact, I'm compelled to! Its just one less thing to worry about as I'm getting ready for my vacation. Nothing would be worse than to plan to eat - especially in a park - only to find out your reservation was not in the system. At least I can try to make alternate plans without being under diress if I find out before I'm actually standing at the podium!

I do. I am way too uptight to just let that go. I have to double check and make sure.

I confirm the signature meals and those needing a CC hold.

I don't confirm all of them.

Do you do this at the check in desk or somewhere else?

Yes, check in desk can do this for you or the guest services desks at the resort or even the theme parks.

I've requested the print out before when I switched around a few CC hold ADRs. I just wanted to make sure everything was correct and those that were canceled actually WERE canceled, I didn't want to be charged any no-show fees by accident.

I do confirm. But that's because I'm obsessed, and always worried that something will go wrong, even though it NEVER does. But I have read on other threads that it does happen.
What I do is when I make my reservations, I write down the confirmation numbers and then put them in my phone. So, not only do I have them written down, I have them on my phone. That way I know I can't mess up.

Usually I do. I got burned once when several of my ADR's were wrong (wrong party size, wrong day) and since then I am extra careful. I also make sure I get a printout when I check in. And I have a friend who lately seems to be going a few weeks before me, so I have her get it for me at her resort! I am paranoid. But some of those cm's are clueless and careless. I can't wait for the day when you can check your stuff online. I don't care about being able to make them online, but I would love it if you could confirm them yourself.

Of course I do. I check double check recheck my check and check some more. I really think I just like to call Disney.

Another one here that confirms. Just less to think about if you do. And we have gotten things changed without a problem by doing this that we wrong on the ADR.

I do call about a week before I leave and double check the reservation numbers and times. I also get a print out when we check in.

I don't call, but I do get a printout as soon as we get there and double-check everything. We did have an error last time - one of our meals was a week before our check-in date. We called the restaurant direct (I think? DH handled it so I'm not positive) and they fixed it by giving us the same time on the correct day.
