My husband and I are planning our first trip ever to WDW for sometime in September. For one thing, I want to know if I should book now and try to add the free dining plan later- so I can do the ADR's 180 days out. Or should I wait until the offer comes out in April and book then? Will it be too late to do ADR's for September if I wait to book until April?

Also I would love restaurant recommendations for us since we have never been there. We are bringing our 2yr old son who will probably get a kick out of character meals, but the Cinderalla one is not so important. We just like good food and fun restaurants. I thought the Coral Reef one sounded kind of cool (salt water display in the restaurant?). We plan on eating one TS every evening.

Thanks for your time!

Welcome.....you will be able to spend hours and hours scouring this board for information.

Because of all of the wonderful information I was able to plan our first trip last May and it was perfect. It was just me, the hubby and 5 yr old son.

I was a little scared about Coral Reef because I read some bad reviews but we had a great dinner there.

Our other TS meals were:

Crystal Palace Breakfast - AWESOME!!!! Get there very early to get in the park for great intruderless photos. We did this twice it was soooooo good.

Boma Dinner in AKL - Great and we are very plain eaters so we were a bit nervous about this one too.

Chef Mickeys for Breakfast - Great character breakfast but we did not think the food was good.

Artist Point in the WL - Was very good but I don't think it was worth 2TS credits on the DDP.

Whispering Canyon Cafe in the WL - was also good but I didn't think it was great. But we had very late reservations. I would avoid late dinners especially with a little one. We were very grumpy and didn't enjoy all of the server antics.

Same thing happened at MGM 50's Cafe - Late reservation + tired people = bad experience - the food was good here though.

Kona Cafe - had great dinner.

This May we are going to try Ohanas & Le Cellier (late lunch) but we are going back to Crystal Palace, Boma and Coral Reef.

Have fun ~ Planning is so fun when it's for Disney:yay:

You can book now and call and try to have the FD code put on your reservation when it comes out in April, but there are no guarantees that you won't have to rebook. Each resort is only allotted so many rooms for Free Dining. Pop and ASMo sold out first last year and Wilderness Lodge wasn't even available with the Free Dining promo when it came out in April.
