Hi!

Our wedding is my parent's first trip to the World without kids, grandkids, or soemone bothering them! ;)

So DF and I are planning to make an ADR for them and give them a gift card to use for their dinner. Sad to say, but they have never ate at a "fancy" Disney World restaurant, because they were always on a budget, or had kids that they wanted to entertain or something of the like. They always eat at a counter service place or something. So I would really like to do this for them, because I know they would never do it for themselves, they are too concerned about pleasing everyone else first.

My quesitons are:

Can i make a ressie for them under their name?

Do restaurants take gift cards?

What would be a good place to send them (they are meat and potatoes people, no overly fancy food that they can't pronounce.....italian food is always a winner with them)?

How can I make it a nice surprise, instead of just throwing the gift card at them?

Also, can i arrange for something special at the table through Disney, or something to add to the ambiance of the gift?

TIA! :thumbsup2

How thoughtful!!

My parents were there their first time "alone" during our wedding stay as well. Although we stayed with them the entire time so, I would exactly consider it alone. I know what you mean about doing something that they wouldnt do for themselves. I do not know the answer to this.. nor do I know any italian places... but I think thats such a generous thing for you to do! Hugs and:cheer2: Cheers to you!!

Oh - yes you can definitely do all of this. The restaurant in Italy in EPCOT is wonderful if they like Italian food - it's called Alfredo's. You can get them a couple of different kinds of gift cards - I belive there's one just for food if you want to do that. You could even just do a Visa gift card from any bank so that you can get it ahead of time and know that if there's extra money they can easily spend it on something else.

As for something special at the table, I'm sure you can arrange with the restaurant for confetti or something like that, or you can order a special cake from the GF bakery?? It's a really nice idea!
