ADR Question

To make ADR's do you have to have your park tickets purchased or just your hotel reservation made. Also, can you make all your ADR's at one time or will you have to make several calls to separate them? I would really rather not have to make ADR's as the whole process is totally confusing to me and I barely even understand it. If I am going in January during a relatively slow time would I be ok just making the reservations once I got there a few days ahead of time or do I need to make them way ahead?

To make ADR you do not need either park pass or hotel reservation, but you must call on the 90 day out for each of the day you want to dine. However, if you are staying on site and have a hotel reservation, you can call on the 90 day of the 1st day of your stay and make ADR for as many days as your reservation upto 10 days. (that is 90 + 10)

Hope this make sense.

xmelissax,

It really depends where you want to eat. If you want CRT for breakfast you are going to want to call on that 90 day mark. I usually wait until my entire 90 day window is open and then call and make all of my ADR's at once.

I went to WDW in Jan 2005 (19-26) and I called each morning and made ressies for what I wanted. I had no trouble getting what I wanted. If you will be there during a busy times like New Years, Marathon Weekend, or MLK weekend then you might want to make a few ahead of time. You can always cancel what you do not need. Of course if there is somewhere you are dying to eat then it might be just as easy to do it ahead of time then you for sure have it. Also one other thing to consider is the size of your group. If it is large group or small group (2 or less) then you might want to try and snag a few things ahead of time or you might not get tables.

I'm not sure what a CRT is, but if you mean character dining I'm not interested in that. It's good to know you called in the morning and it wasn't hard to get reservations. Why would it be hard to get a table for a party of 2? I understand a large party but why for a couple? I think I will pick a few places I really want to go that seem more popular and make those reservations ahead of time.

CRT is Cinderella's Royal Table restaurant. It's a character experience for breakfast and lunch and no characters in the evening. It's the restaurant in the castle.

I don't know why it's so hard to get reservations for 2 :confused3 When I made ADR's there were places that still had tables for 4 but nothing was left for 2. :guilty:

From what I was told by a CM most WDW resturants (especially the less formal ones) only have a small amount of tables for two. He said that in the past they had more but they were not being filled. It was to much of a hassle to keep pushing table together for larger parties so they reduced the # of table for two and started taking fewer PS's (oops ADR's) as well.

Thanks everyone. Now I understand some things I was totally lost about before. Also, is CRT really great? If I were to make an ADR for it it would be at dinner with no characters. Is the view great, the food? Is it just because it's in the castle that it's so popular?

xmelissax,
At CRT they do have window seats that overlook Fantsyland, but that is not gaurntee that you will get to sit there. CRT is popular because it is in the castle and has princessses at breakfast and lunch. I was solo on my trip in January and I sat at all 2 tops and I had no problem getting what I wanted on the day of. If you have not checked out the menus on all ears yet you might want to do that here is a link:
