Hi guys!
My ADR date is coming up on Friday and I haven't done this in awhile - help please! So, right now, when I'm logged in to MDE, I can see until April 30th as open dates for reservations. Am I correct that on Friday, my whole trip will open up for me from May 3rd - May 13th?

What is the best tactic when reserving? do I start on the last day of our trip and move backward, or do I book the restaurants that we're most interested in first?

I feel like I'm potentially putting more into this than I need to, but my daughter has serious food allergies, so the dining component is really important.

Thanks for your advice!

Yes

I would look at the hardest ones first and try to book them farther out... Ie: Say you want BOG dinner and you're at MK 2 nights, chose the one farthest out, your odds are higher to get it. Plan by what is an absolute must first, then work backwards.

Make sure you note her allergies on your reservation. WDW is probably the most considerate place on the planet when it comes to special food needs...

Have fun!

As long as you are staying at a Disney owned resort you will be able to book your check in day plus the first 10 days of your trip on your 180 day...unless you are staying at more than one resort. If you have a split stay then reservations can be booked 180 days in advance of the check in date for each reservation.

I would start by trying to book the hardest ones (e.g. Be Our Guest, 'Ohana) first. If you try towards the end of your trip you might have better luck. However, even if you don't get the reservations at your 180 day you have 6 months to keep checking for cancellations which will happen as people change their plans.

Disney is excellent with allergies so note it on all of your reservations and remind your server when you are at the restaurants.

Don't worry if you don't get something. I didn't bother making ADRs at 180 days. Just the week or 2 after and got everything we wanted including BoG for dinner.
