Alright guys please dont kill me with your answers. I have a reservation at Jiko on May 15th for my wifes birthday. We really want to eat at Boma so we can try many different dishes. They have openings, but not any for a party of two. I have been calling for weeks. If I said that our party was bigger, but only showed up with the two of us, would we be able to keep our reservation. I know this will be frowned upon, but it is her birthday. Thanks for your answers and please dont kill me.

Hi,

Two things:

1) My wife's birthday is also May 15!

2) Good luck with this one. Put on your flameproof suit.

I don’t think this will answer your question exactly but my husband and I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge so we ate at both restaurants. I must say that Jiko is sssssoooooo good. Boma is good also but Jiko is a fine dinning experience, we went there for our anniversary. Boma on the other hand is loud and not as romantic.

As I said this may not answer your question, but I hope this helps.

I don't know about this restaurant in particular but I can tell you that we had reservations at LeCellier for three people. Well, my husband ended up with an abcessed tooth and didn't feel well enough to go to dinner and told us to go to dinner without him. We strolled over to the restaurant podium and told them we were ready to check in. They found us on the list for a party of 3. I told them my husband wasn't able to come and they said they couldn't seat us until we had everybody in our party there. Thankfully, I had checked in early (just to see if we would have a problem on our hands). My husband hopped on a bus and sat with us while we ate. Swollen face and all!

We had no problems. I made all our reservations for a grand gathering and a whole family of 4 decided not to join the 20+ others when eating dinner a few nights and never had problems getting seted without them. I say do it but be prepared to go somewhere else just in case.

That's crazy! I can't believe they would do that. Did you tell them he didn't feel well??????

Sure did! I also heard the host/hostess at another restaurant the same thing.....unless your entire party is here, we can't seat you.
