ADR question

If we make ADR's for say 11 people. Then one of the families backs out, can I just call and drop them off the ADR? Or will it mess us up at all? Will have to make a whole new ADR?

It will require a new reservation. I had to do this very thing today. We have a reservation at 7:10 for O'Hana for a party of 11, but I need to change it to 8 and they told me the earliest they could give me was after 9:00.

If it's last minute and you can't rebook easily, you can just inform the hostess when you arrive that someone had to back out at the last minute and only __ are present.

If you know ahead of time, you can try and get a new reservation. You can't just change the numbers on an existing reservation, no =(

That doesn't make any sense? I can see if you had to add people, that would mess things up, but subtracting people should not be a big deal. And you are trying to do a good thing, by freeing up some more space for others. I guess it all has to do with their computer system?? still doesn't seem right tho.

Yep, it's their computer system. And I agree - it stinks, esp since it's not a typical 'reservation' where they hold a table for you.

I had a feeling that's how it would work. We'll be going with a large group in Sept. My bro and his family are part of that, but they still haven't committed to going. I refuse to make any important ADR's for 11 and then have them back out. This is going to be quite interesting to try to handle this without any problems.
