ADR Question?

We're heading down March 1-5, ESPN the weekend. I was considering ADR's, but I don't want to get too tied up. I've never eaten at Boma, but would like to try it. Should I make ADR's with the idea that I might not keep them? Can you walk there from AK? If not, what's the best way to get from BC to AKL?

I would guess the easiest way to get from BC to AKL would be to transfer at Epcot--your closest park. If you will be at AK that day, it's a short walk from the park exit to the bus stop-hop on the AKL bus and you will be there in a few short minutes. I have not walked from AK to AKL and don't know if that's even a possibility with the reserve between the two.

Boma will be extremely difficult to get on short notice unless you don't mind having dinner around 9:30 pm so I would definitely make an ADR. If you later realize you will not be using it, be sure to cancel it as a courtesy to other guests.

We usually book an ADR at Boma for our AK day. AK closes at 5pm the time of year we normally go so we make the ADR for 5:30pm. You cannot walk from AK to AKL but the bus ride from AK to AKL is less than 5 minutes. We get to AKL in plenty of time to wash up in the restroom before going in for dinner.

If you're doing Boma on a non-AK day and will be leaving directly from BCV, then the route you take depends on the time of your ADR. If your ADR is not much past 5pm then the AK buses will still be running so you can catch an AK bus at BCV, and transfer to an AKL bus once you get there. If you have a later ADR, then you could walk to the front of Epcot or MGM and catch an AKL bus, or take a bus to MK or DTD and catch an AKL bus there.

The best way to Boma from BC is a taxi, $15 incd tip!

We love AKL and that's where we've stayed the most over the years (until be bought DVC last year.) If you want a suggestion, I'd book a reservation for Jiko's at AKL. You definitely can NOT walk there from AK, by the way. It is quite a distance away. Anyway, Jiko's is one of our very favorite restaurants anywhere on Disney property.
