Hi Everyone!

I am in the midst of planning a Labor Day Weekend trip to Disney. This trip started out as a girlfriend get away but then my husband got jealous and decided to come along with his friend too

On Sunday we plan to tackle drinking around the world, and knowing that Italy is about halfway around I was thinking it was probably a good idea to make a reservation at Via Napoli so we could get some good greasy carbs.

My question is this, knowing that it is very possible that our party will get separated between Mexico and Italy should I just make a reservation for 2 and have DH make his own? Or if I have a reservation for 4 and only 2 show up will we be turned away?

You definitely won't be turned away for having less people than your reservation is for. It's more common than we think for people to show up with less guests than on the ADR, since it's easier to show up with less guests than show up with more guests!!

The only case that you might be turned away is if you have one reservation for 2 and you show up with 4. When this happens, it's up to the restaurant whether they can accommodate the extra guests. If you do have two reservations for 2 and he doesn't decide to come, he could be charged a no-show/late cancellation fee for both guests, and if all 4 guests do show up, it's not guaranteed that you'll be able to sit together.

I would recommend making the reservation for 4. If you find out early enough that they aren't coming, you can contact Disney and see if they can adjust it down and open up an ADR for 2 to other guests. While it's nice to be able to make ADRs so far in advance, this is definitely one of the downsides that I struggle with!! Not being able to change plans easily and quickly while on the go is not possible when booking dining months ahead!
