ADR number of people change?

If you booked an ADR for say 4 people and changed it to 2 or 3 nearer the time, is there any problem/penalty. I've got a friend that wants to come with us but it'll depend on her work. Thanks

PS numbers (it's PS for DLR & ADR for WDW) can be changed at any time, but I'd make for the larger number and change to a smaller group than vice versa, JIC.

Definitely go with the higher number at first.....it's much harder (and I was unsuccessful a time or two) to add people later.
