ADR moves on same day

If there is availability, is there any issue with a same day ADR change? I have a 6:30pm reservation at the Wave on our arrival day, but might want to push it earlier depending on how long it takes us to settle in.

As long as you are just modifying your ADR and not cancelling it you should be fine. I will say that there are sometimes restaurants that will not allow you to modify within an hour or so of your ADR time without calling but I don't know if the wave is one of them. Depending on how much earlier you want to schedule it you could also just show up at the Wave at the earlier time and ask if they can take you in earlier. Just make sure that they actually get you checked in under your original ADR time so you penalized as a no-show.

I’ve done it with no issue.

However, as PP states above I did have to consult with a CM so that our Afternoon Tea ADR wouldn’t be charged since we changed our minds and decided to go to 1900 Park Fare at the last minute.

When I wanted to change times for ADRs on the same day I would call to make sure it worked out. Or at the Wave we would just go early and never had a problem. We love the Wave for that reason - the food is good and you can get an ADR on the day of.

You can make same day changes on the app and presumably also the website (have only used the app to modify for same day, personally). The only snag I've run into is, like pp have said, sometimes when it's within an hour of the ADR, the app won't let you modify it. That would probably require a call.

When modifying (in the app) from the reservation, it only searches for new times for that restaurant, not times for all restaurants. It's the same process when you click the "modify" link from the website.
However, you could get around both by just searching for a new ADR and selecting a time within an hour of your current ADR, then choose to keep the new reservation (which will cancel the old reservation, once confirmed). I don't know if that will trigger a no-show fee but maybe? Above pp said they weren't charged for changing restaurants last minute, but they called in.

Alternatively you could modify your original ADR and change it to some date in the future, cancel it, and avoid a no-show fee that way.

I have changed restaurants a few times same day on the app with no problem and was not charge the no show fee.

If I remember correctly and maybe someone else can chime in, I modified the original reservation I had until a day or two later and then cancelled it. Lots of times a reservation will open the day before so if you cancel before midnight you are definitely safe. Also try touring plans reservation finder it’s free and works great in helping to get hard to find reservations.

I have just showed up at the restaurant and asked if we could be checked in early. Now this would not work at an 'Ohana type of ADR, those places are booked solid, but I have had a luck on the few occasions that our day changed and we were ready to dine a bit earlier than I had originally planned.

Just be sure to modify and not cancel. we have had no problems making changes.

I think you can make changes online with no fee up to 20 minutes before the ADR. But you can also call to be certain.
